Kapamilya Snaps: The most iconic Kapamilya teleserye characters as Halloween costume pegs!

Traditions like trick or treat are cancelled this year. But that won’t stop us from getting dressed in costumes and celebrating Halloween at home. Because we can always settle for a virtual shindig!

If you’re looking for ‘lit’ outfits – from spooky to fab – here are costume pegs from iconic Kapamilya characters.

Ladies can dress up as the Killer Groom (Lara Quigaman) from the popular thriller-drama The Killer Bride. All you need is a classic suit, black fedora hat, and a mask – all in black. But if you want to play heroine than antagonist, and hauntingly chic than macabre, why not take on Camila Dela Torre (Maja Salvador)?

The queen of Las Espadas in The Killer Bride is known for her bloodstained off-shoulder wedding gown. Don’t forget to finish the look with a dainty half-do! Camila version 2.0 – white pantsuit, red pointed stiletto pumps, beach waves, and red pout – will also make for an elegant bad girl look.

The equally iconic Ivy Aguas from Wildflower, still played by Maja, is easily a scene-stealer. So, if you also want to imbibe a queen of the night aura, all you need is a black ball gown paired with a black veil (worn on her wedding day) or a heavily embellished long dress in gold (worn on her explosive comeback scene). Seal the hauntingly beautiful black gown with a pretty bun while let your hair flow for the gold costume.

Mother and daughter duos don’t have to look far. Daniela (Dimples Romana) and Marga (Andrea Brillantes) from Kadenang Ginto are your sassy style inspirations. Daniela’s fancy red dress with matching luggage is an easy ensemble to pull off. Steal the rich-kid diva look of Marga aka Maxwell’s Queen Bee by donning a white polo uniform, gray blazer, and blue skirt.

Halloween parties are for all things spooky and cute and amusing. Make your childhood mermaid dreams come true by taking on Stella (Elisse Joson) from Wansapanataym: “Ofishially Yours.” Mermaid tail, tube top, sea accessories, and soft curls are the must-haves to steal this look.

Superheroes are the best options as well. Why not rock the badass heroine mood of Lia (Kathryn Bernardo) of La Luna Sangre? All you need is a figure-hugging tank top or racerback sports bra, combat pants, and boots. Top it off with a messy ponytail. Don’t forget the colored lenses to hint a she-wolf transformation. It would also be fun to channel the spellbinding OG Chosen One, Lia (Angel Locsin) with her signature red cloak clad over an all-black outfit.

The men of La Luna Sangre are astig Halloween pegs, too.  Vampire costumes don’t suck as long as done with red contact lenses, fake vampire fangs, and an all-black outfit ensemble ala Sandrino (Richard Gutierrez).

Another pivotal character was that of Prof T (Albert Martinez). He is neither a vampire nor a werewolf but the brilliant scientist who created the Moonchasers. His brains is his weapon, so you would want to appear genius. Try this by donning a preppy combination of checked top, plain knitted vest, and a stylish trilby. Make it more exciting with his signature gray hair and mustache, and bow tie!

Spread fun on Halloween by dressing up as a beauty queen ala Paloma from FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. The appearance of Paloma was one of the most unexpected plot twists in the show. Who would have thought that action star Coco Martin would cross-dress for his undercover identity? Paloma exudes flirty vibes, so you would need a colorful wig, cute dress, heels, and ‘pak na pak’ makeup style.

Costumes with a touch of arts and crafts will stun everyone just as how Jaguar (Christian Vasquez) from Wildflower added style to the show by wearing his signature gold animal head mask, which can be DIY-ed. For the clothes, you would need a button-down shirt, pants, and jacket. A colored tie would add thrill to the whole ensemble.

It might take more effort and creativity but coming to the (virtual) party as Iking (Edward Barber) from Hiwaga ng Kambat will make you wow the spectators. Pull it off with a head to toe bat suit and wings.

Couples can copy the epic looks of Lakas (Enrique Gil) and Ganda (Liza Soberano) from Bagani. Recreate the getup of the desert warrior, Lakas, with an earth-colored armor and a curved sword with a long hilt – the Espada ni Minokawa. His partner, Ganda, has this mystical beauty. She represents the farming region, thus the incorporation of air elements in her blue frock with a big claw on the shoulders and along the bodice.

With their strength and heart for the Sansinukob, Lakas and Ganda would make for the perfect couple goals. Or you may invite the whole barkada to mimic the Bagani squad including Lakam (Matteo Guidicelli), Dumakulem (Makisig Morales), and Mayari (Sofia Andres)

Lakam exudes a knight-in-shining armor vibes with his red metallic beaded suit apt to represent the clan of traders or Taga-Kalakal. Dressing up as Dumakulem would also bring fantastic visuals. Do it by wearing a leaf-inspired green armor suit with side swept box braids.

Representing the Taga-Laot, Mayari’s blue costume is embellished with scales and dried shells especially on the shoulders. This one is perfect for that one friend who loves the sea!

If your barkada is composed of only the pogi and hunks, why not come to the party as the boys of Los Bastardos? Channel your inner Isagani (Jake Cuenca), Matteo (Marco Gumabao), Lucas (Albie Casino), Connor (Joshua Colet), and Joaquin (Diego Loyzaga). How to do it? Just flaunt your abs! But don’t forget to wear your black pants. And if you aren’t blessed with the pandesals, you can always score hilarious muscle costumes from online stores and prove to them that funny is the new sexy.

Isn’t dressing up for Halloween cool and fun? Add more oomph to the shindig by transforming into a Kapamilya teleserye icon!
