Luis Manzano recalls favorite, “effortless” acting moments in vlog

Luis Manzano may be a great host and comedian, but he also had his fair share of notable acting projects. Before finding his true talent in hosting, this Kapamilya star began in the acting field where his parents, the great Vilma Santos and Edu Manzano, rose to fame.

Luis, nicknamed “Lucky,” shared in his recent vlog his iconic acting chops, which began way back in 2005. His very first leading role in a teleserye was with multimedia star Anne Curtis in “Kampanerang Kuba”. There, he really had to muster deep emotions in expressing his love for Anne’s character. He even remembers that he executed a “music video style” crying scene that had him emotional for about three hours on the set.

His tandem with Anne continued in the following year with his first movie project “All About Love.” He was also paired up with phenomenal actress Toni Gonzaga in “Crazy For You.” While looking back on their touching scene in the movie, Luis couldn’t help but also commend Toni’s acting.

Luis also explored other genres as an actor. In 2007, he starred in the mythological fantasy series “Rounin.” Other than showing his flexibility with various roles, he also showed off his martial arts skills, which he rigorously trained for.

His last major teleserye project “Dyosa” was in 2008 with Anne again. He recalled that people loved their kulitan and found it as a fun chemistry to have on screen, which is why they were cast together in this show. This series was also memorable for him because he had to wear prosthetics and was painted all blue when his character Kulas turned into his true form- a shokoy.

After that, he played the starring role of Mark in “In My Life.” This holds a special place in his heart because he did that movie with his mother, Vilma, and his performance garnered him awards as Best Supporting Actor.

While Luis loves to guest on other teleseryes and movies, he has finally found his true passion — hosting. His favorite moments in his hosting gigs must be in the singing game show I Can See Your Voice when comedian Bayani Agbayani makes the most hilarious jokes. He also loved working on the popular shows Minute To Win It and The Voice Of The Philippines because the people he worked with would have the same wavelength or humor as him.

Laugh with Luis as he reminisced his on-screen moments in his vlog!
