Kilig tandem AshTan catches up with Luis Manzano as first-time hosts for Kapamilya Chat Level Up

Solid shippers of the AshTan love team have finally got their prayers answered as Ashley Del Mundo and Tan Roncal topbill their first digital series, PILIkula: Ado-boo.

The tandem will play childhood friends reunited virtually when Ashley’s Sydney-based character, Hannah searched for help in learning how to cook her mom’s requested adobo dish. The struggle led her to a sweet and ‘hugot’-filled reunion with Rico played by Tan. The trailer hinted at unspoken feelings and what-ifs that will spice up their adobo recipe and potential romance.

AshTan feels like their roles have been tailor-made for them, thus it was easier to act out their characters. Ashley is an introvert and she speaks and dresses up like Hannah. Meanwhile, Tan mentioned that he’s as laidback as Rico. And the golden ‘hirit’ of the day is Tan’s slight confession that he likes Ashley, as to how Rico likes Hannah.

Asked about the real score between them, AshTan had “good friends” coupled with their sweetest smiles as an answer.

Ashley and Tan, with their families’ help, unlocked their production skills for the DIY virtual shoot. Thanks to this new digital trend, they managed to pull off their first series even if they’re miles apart – he’s in the Philippines while she’s in Australia. Her mom and his sister worked the cameras for them.

Just like their supporters, the young artists are also excited about this project, their first since exiting the Pinoy Big Brother house. They’ve grown a lot but something never changed – their teamwork, apart from the shared love for adobo and sinigang.

“We helped each other to be more comfortable with the lines, feel the characters more, just moral support,” expressed Ashley.

PILIkula: Ado-boo will premiere on October 25 via ktx.ph. Ticket is priced at Php150 and it includes a special Zoom party with the cast.

Lucky Ng Tulong

Seasoned host Luis Manzano will be back as the mastermind of hilarity in I Can See Your Voice Season 3 and with a new online public service show titled “Lucky Ng Tulong.” He talked about these and his quarantine life in this special episode of Kapamilya Chat: Level Up hosted by Ashley Del Mundo and Tan Roncal.

Despite the busy work schedule and the still on-going pandemic, Luis makes time for girlfriend, Jessy Mendiola. For the couple, love doesn’t always have to be grand. “Kahit simpleng handaan lang, kahit kumain lang kami sa labas, o manood lang kami ng isang movie basta magkasama lang kami to catch up, check up on each other,” said Luis.

Luis appears to be a total extrovert, the life of the party. On some days, though, the actor-host appreciates alone time.  He’s also a homebody so he didn’t mind being stuck at home. With the luxury of technology keeping him entertained, Luis said he’s been good since the quarantine. But he doesn’t forget to empathize and pray for the struggling Filipinos, and the world.

AshTan butted in to share about their meditation time, which keeps them sane amid the uncertainties. The pair goes on a digital detox once in a while. Ashley would listen to worship songs and reflect on things.

For Luis, creating online content is his one way of keeping the good vibes loud. He will be hosting a new online show, “Lucky Ng Tulong” alongside one of his favorite sidekicks, Long Mejia.

The duo already finished several episodes, and all Luis could promise is riotous comedy combined with public service. Luis wanted something different from the typical vlog shows these days. Considering that people often air their troubles on social media, the idea of Lucky Ng Tulong popped up.

The show is for the “aggrieved” and “disadvantaged” who would like to seek Luis and Long’s help in solving their problems. The netizens can send their stories and complaints via email.

“Lucky Ng Tulong,” as a contrast to other complaint-based public service programs, adds in loads of comic relief and would tackle minor issues. “’Yung mga seryosong problema, kunwari lang, let’s say drugs or abuse, we’re not going to tackle that kasi we believe na those require legal attention,” said Luis. The arguing camps will be invited on-air and the hosts will mediate to resolve the small conflict such as problems on love and friendship, or as light as ‘tsismosang kapitbahay’ issues.

Luis has chosen Long as his partner for obvious reasons. They’ve known each other well and they share the same passion for making other people laugh. More so, their wit and brand of classic Pinoy comedy just blend well, witnessed by the avid viewers of Minute To Win It.

I Can See Your Voice Season 3

Apart from his online show “Laki Ng Tulong,” Luis together with the Singvestigators will be back for the third season of I Can See Your Voice starting Saturday, October 24.

Luis teased about the new elements in the game show, which the viewers surely wouldn’t want to miss. “Panibagong I Can See Your Voice. May mga bagong Singvestigators, mga bagong mechanics but still the same old funny I Can See Your Voice, said the actor-host.

He added, “Mag-iba man nang kaunti when you see it but we promise you tatawa pa rin kayo nang tatawa. There are few rounds that we had to jumble and there are some rounds that we added a bit of flavor, so dapat ninyong abangan ‘yan!”

Solid I Can See Your Voice fans always look forward to Team Kalabaw’s impish, riotous comedy. For Luis, or perhaps the whole gang, the bits and pieces of hilarity are put together by the bond shared off-cam.

“Sa I Can See Your Voice, we formed a family and that’s the reason why so many people enjoy the show kasi ‘yung tawanan, ‘yung punchlines, it is because we have this super solid bond. Nag-aasaran kami and we’re always in touch regardless if may taping o wala,” shared Luis.

Catch the comeback of the well-loved mystery music game show, I Can See Your Voice,” on its third season every Saturday and Sunday nights starting October 24.

I Can See Your Voice will be available on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z Channel 11, and iWant TFC.

Prank Call

Luis Manzano takes his penchant for public service to the next level by producing his online show titled “Lucky Ng Tulong” which he co-hosts with funny sidekick, Long Mejia.

It will be reminiscent of complaint-based public service programs, only funnier and leaning on minor conflicts such as problems on love, friendship, or with a neighbor. Plus, the comic duo’s tried-and-tested blend of wit and brand of classic Pinoy comedy is something fans wouldn’t want to miss.

In this episode of Kapamilya Chat Level Up hosted by Ashley Del Mundo and Tan Roncal, or AshTan, Luis tried to pull a prank on his partner. Unfortunately, Long failed to pick up the phone.

So, Luis looked for another victim and he found one in Bayani Agbayani.

Luis started the script with, “Kuya Yani, favor lang, hingi ko advice mo. Kung mag-I Can See tayo ulit, baka last ko na ‘yun. Baka mag-rest muna ako kahit mga three years, tingin mo? O gawa pa tayo ng isa para kumbaga magpopondo lang ako?”

To which, Bayani replied: “Huwag! Ang galing-galing mong host, ang galing-galing mong artista. Dapat ikaw ang maraming trabaho sa industriya. Pero pwede ka naman magpahinga rin dahil ang dami-dami mo nang pera, ang dami mo nang negosyo.”

Then, Luis dropped the punchline, “Kung may choice na lang siguro kung sinong magre-rest sa atin, ikaw o ako. Sino kaya muna?”

From being so encouraging a while ago, Bayani’s response turned hilarious: “Ikaw na lang… Dinamay mo ba naman ako sa pagre-retire mo.”

Luis revealed that it was a prank. Alex Gonzaga, who was then with Bayani for a show, took over the call, so viewers were treated with another round of humorous ‘asaran.’

After the ‘kulitan’, came an exchange of sweet and friendly ‘I love you’ between them.
