Former Pinoy Big Brother celebrity housemate KD Estrada is stepping into a new chapter in his career with his debut on the big screen. He joins a star-studded cast in the slice-of-life comedy-drama "Fruitcake."
Based on the trailer, the movie revolves around the stories of young Filipinos from different walks of life, and how their fates intertwine at their unluckiest moments. The film promises to showcase a new side of KD, pushing him out of his comfort zone for his first-ever movie role as the ‘delulu’ Jolo who gets into trouble in his attempt to become the cool guy.
He joins a stellar cast led by Joshua Garcia, Enchong Dee, Ria Atayde, Heaven Peralejo, Jane Oineza, Kaila Estrada, Markus Paterson, Karina Bautista, and Dominic Ochoa.
We bet KD’s ‘sweethearts’ are already excited to see this unique and relatable film, which will remind moviegoers, especially younger audiences, that there's always someone out there for them.
Before we get a taste of “Fruitcake” on June 12, KD stopped by Kapamilya Chat to take on some fun challenges. One of the games, inspired by the movie, was called “What Cake,” where he chose the perfect cake to give to different people. After all, there's never a bad time for cake, right?
First up, for close friends and family, he will get them cheesecake because you can't go wrong with cheesecake—it's simple, but no one will say no to it.
For the cast of "Fruitcake," of course, he will give them fruitcake. It’s a fitting treat for the people who brought the movie to life.
There are cakes he considers universal, like chocolate cake. You can enjoy it any time of the day, not just on special occasions. So if he were to give a cake to a stranger, it would definitely be chocolate cake.
KD probably had the toughest time thinking about what cake to give his enemies or bashers. Then he thought, “Bakit ako magbibigay ng cake sa bashers?” He meant, do they even deserve a bite of this heavenly dessert? Or maybe he’d have a little fun with it and give them a cake they’re allergic to. If a basher is allergic to bananas, KD might give them banana cake as a playful revenge. Smart guy!
Get ready, sweethearts, because you're in for a deliciously sweet answer from KD! When asked what cake he'd give his special someone, without hesitation, KD thought of a wedding cake – one they'd slice together. Aww. Our ‘delulu’ hearts can’t help but think of his love team partner Alexa Ilacad getting that special cake!
