Karina, Aljon share first celeb idols, last moment they cried in First and Last Challenge

As their first-ever iWant Original series “Hoy, Love You”  premiered last January 18, Karina Bautista and Aljon Mendoza recently dropped by ABS-CBN Entertainment’s Kapamilya Confessions: Quarantine Edition not just to simply promote it, but to also spread good vibes and kilig to their beloved fans.

But before they responded to the slew of thought-provoking questions their supporters sent in on social media, the loveteam enthusiastically took on the First and Last Challenge first.

Their first-ever teleserye stint was the 2019 afternoon action-romance drama Sandugo wherein they played the roles of Marco and Andeng. When it comes to their first celebrity idols, Aljon admitted that he’s a huge fanboy of Ylona Garcia, while Karina looks up to “Four Sisters And A Wedding” stars Angel Locsin, Bea Alonzo, Toni Gonzaga, and Shaina Magdayao, as well as to Kim Chiu and Maja Salvador.

Reminiscing their first embarrassing moment that they could remember, Aljon imparted that it was when he forgot to pay for the food he ordered at school, but still claimed that he already paid. Meanwhile, it was when her skirt accidentally fell while playing basketball at an arcade. For those who are curious on the first thing that they look at a person, Karina said that it’s the stance and gushed over how Direk Laurenti Dyogi projects himself.

KarJon also showed their last selfie together, which was a mirror selfie of them checking their outfit side by side. While they seemingly refused to share the last time they said “I love you”, both of them jestingly divulged that the last thing or person they thought about was his official receipt for Aljon, while it was her loveteam partner for Karina.

With regards to the last time they cried, he said that it was last year, while it was during the media conference of “Hoy, Love You” for her. And ultimately, the last message they sent to someone was “Update agad kita” for Aljon, while “Hahaha! Nag-search kasi ako, iba lumalabas.”

Moving on to the Kapamilya Confessions proper, the Pinoy Big Brother Otso alumni responded to the random questions of their fans, ranging from their personal lives and relationship up to their showbiz shindigs.

When asked about the challenges they encountered in filming “Hoy, Love You” both of them agreed that it’s unleashing their comic facets for this romance-comedy series since they admitted not being natural comedians. Another one is having to portray characters that are younger than them.

Even though they’ve been friends and an on-screen pair for two years now, KArJon revealed that it’s still inevitable for them to get awkward with each other, saying that it’s because they’re still mindful of the differences between their personal bond and their characters’ connection. However, if they would rate their closeness, it would be 90% for Karina and 91% for Aljon as they both know that there are things that they have to learn yet about each other.

Regarding their discoveries about themselves and one another during this pandemic, both of them realized that they can actually do a lot of things they thought they couldn’t, with Karina imparting that her health scare and friendship struggles also helped her get to know herself deeper. As Aljon bared secret kitchen skills, Karina disclosed finding out how happy Aljon is at present.

When it comes to handling the pressure of show business, Aljon simply reminds himself to always step up and be a better version of himself since it’s not always that he gets contented with his performances. Meanwhile, Karina keeps a “do-or-die” mindset to motivate herself to exert her best in everything that she does.

They also refused to compare the current batch of PBB housemates to theirs, saying that each season is different from one another. But they’re very much supportive of the ongoing “Connect” edition as they watch few episodes and read several updates about it online.

And lastly, KarJon reminded their fans to stay in touch with them via social media and their respective YouTube channels for updates regarding their lives off-cam and upcoming projects. They also teased that they’re going to have acting, dancing, and hosting gigs this year!
