We may have already gone to a lot of places and tasted a variety, but we can all agree that nothing really beats the sumptuous homecooked meals our mothers cook for us, which oftentimes turn into our comfort food as well.

And in this Mother’s Day 2022 feature, let’s find out the favorite dishes of some of our favorite Kapamilya stars that their doting beloved moms cook.

For Viral Scandal lead actress Charlie Dizon, it would be the special giniling dishes of her Mommy Nida which no one could ever imitate.

Kapampangans are expected to be fond of saucy foods, such as menudo and afritada, but for Dimples Romana, her most favorite is the so-called “lutong juice,” which is smoked ham cooked in pineapple juice. Her onscreen partner Miko Raval, on the other hand, reveals that it’s actually her dad who cooks, but he loves it every time his mom buys desserts. She’s able to influence him to have a sweet tooth, too, so he could finish one whole cake in just one sitting.

Their Viral Scandal co-stars Kaila Estrada, Gian Magdangal, Maxene Magalona, and Ria Atayde also shared theirs. For Kaila, it’s her Mama Janice De Belen’s callos, which, according to her, cannot be matched by any restaurants with regards to the taste and nostalgia it brings to her and their whole family. Meanwhile, Gian boasted his mom’s unique “Crab with Tausi Sauce” that only her can cook.

Maxene, on other hand, disclosed that her Mama Pia actually doesn’t cook a lot, but she and her siblings love it when she cooks her famous salpicao during holidays and her favorite aglio olio pasta. For Ria, the kare-kare and ginamos rice that her Mama Sylvia Sanchez cooks are her top favorites.

iWantTFC digital series “Misis Piggy” actor Elijah Canlas is all praises to his mom’s cooking, with sinigang, pork binagoongan, and chicken afritada as his top favorites. His co-star Iana Bernardez, meanwhile, boasted the sinigang na salmon belly of her Mama Angel Aquino.

While everyone in this video mentioned viands, Kiko Estrada shared that his mom bakes good cookies.
