When a celebrity welcomes a new baby, the public’s curiosity is pinned on the little angel’s name and the interesting story behind. But even before that glorious moment happens, the following Kapamilya stars give us the first dibs by sharing the possible names of their future babies.
If Paolo Gumabao is a huge fan of American series “How I Met Your Mother,” can you guess his future baby’s name? The Huwag Kang Mangamba star would go for Barney for boy and Robin if it’s a girl, taken from the show’s main characters.
Peaky Builders is the favorite series of Rise Artists Studio’s Jeremiah Lisbo. Can you guess his future son’s name? It would be Thomas, which he’s already given to his dog. “Sobrang hinahangaan ko siya kasi grabe ‘yung pagmamahal niya sa pamilya niya. Gagawin niya lahat para sa pamilya niya. Tapos sobrang alpha niya,” he said of the show’s lead character.
The choice of “Love at First Stream” star Daniela Stranner is so original. Her future daughter would be baptized as Aleinad – her name spelled backward. If it’s a boy, he’d be the ‘junior’ of her husband. Coincidentally, Daniela’s love team partner Anthony Jennings would love to have a junior as well, and Baby Antoinette, the girl version of his name.
Karina Bautista would combine her and her father’s names and the result is Kenna. The choice of Aljon Mendoza is a little unusual – Eren – taken from a character in the anime “Attack On Titan.” For The Gold Squad member Francine Diaz’ future chikitings, the choice has a leading man appeal – Sergio – for the boy, and biblical – Elizabeth – for the girl.
Gigi de Lana’s favorite singer is Hayley Williams, so her future daughter would be bestowed with Hayley as well, or it may be converted into Haylo if it’s a boy. Kidding aside, she would pick Erwin.
The Voice Teens alumnus Jeremy Glinoga would steal the name of another Hollywood superstar, the daughter of Beyonce and Jay-Z – Blue Ivy but sans the color. “I want her to feel that she stands out and she’s one of a kind,” he said. For his future baby boy, he’d pick Eriq, with a ‘q’ because that’s how his second name is spelled. “My Dad’s name is Eric with a ‘c.’ My second name is Eriq din with a ‘q’, so ang gusto ko Eriq kasi no one spells Eriq with a ‘q’ and family history din.”
Legacy is indeed a big factor in choosing the perfect name. R&B King Jay R is Gaudencio Sillona III in real life, and so his future son would be the fourth Gaudencio in the family. If it’s a girl, she’d be Mommy Mica Javier’s mini me – Mica Jr.
With his unique name, the future Baby Red would set the trend as well, like his dad Joao Constancia. But if it’s an unica hija, Joao would name his daughter after his mom Myrna or grandmother Lydia.
Singer NKO would christen his child after his real name, Ernesto. And if Joao picked Red, NKO would go for Blue for his future baby girl. Star Music’s Kenji, akin to his name, would choose something with Japanese origin – Shiro or Shotaro for a boy, and Yuzuha for a girl.
Akihiro Blanco would of course opt for the unique – Claude for a son and Lali for a daughter. Ex-PBB housemate Jelay Pilones would follow her initial ‘J’ and that gives her Jasmin, combined with her other favorite name, Nicole – Jasmin Nicole!
As of now, Kaori Oinuma is drawn to the name Angel. Rhys Miguel honors their genealogy with Henry, which is his dad and grandfather’s names. He was supposed to be Henry as well but his mom didn’t want to.
“Something na mahaba at medyo makaluma” is the peg for Jane Oineza. She’s thinking of Elizabeth at the moment but this will probably change in the future, “Kasi napaka-OC ko. So ‘pag mag-iisip ako ng name, lahat ire-research ko muna tapos titingnan ko kung ano ‘yung mga meaning, paano i-pronounce.”
