Kapamilya Spotlight: Kapamilya loveteams share their love, appreciation to their families

As we are all compelled to stay at home this year due to the pandemic, we’re able to spend more time with our families which made it possible for us to reconnect and create happy memories with them, as well as appreciate them even more.

And as we’re about to celebrate Christmas in a few days, let the Kapamilya loveteams featured in this episode of Kapamilya Spotlight remind you on the value of family through their past interviews in Kapamilya talk shows.

Learn to say sorry and forgive the mistakes of your loved ones

As sorry seemed to be the hardest word for Kathryn Bernardo before, she regarded her “bal” Daniel Padilla for teaching her how to apologize for the mistakes and shortcomings she committed towards her loved ones.

“For me kasi, asking for forgiveness is very important and that’s not easy talaga to do. Feeling natin kapag nag-sorry tayo, it’s a sign of weakness. But for me, it’s a sign of strength. Natuto akong mag-sorry because of DJ,” she told the King of Talk during her dressing room interview with in Tonight With Boy Abunda in 2018.

The Queen of Hearts then went on to impart the things she’s apologetic for towards her king and her Mommy Min Bernardo.

Grandparents are wise and want the best for everyone

Apart from our parents, we also have our grandparents to rely on, especially when it comes to the matters of the heart. While there are some of us who didn’t have the chance to see and spend time with our grannies, Liza Soberano is one of those fortunate to still see and talk to her Lolo Jeff and Lola Divina.

In her conversation with the Magandang Buhay momshies last year, she talked about her special bond with them and letting them know about her relationship with Enrique Gil, who her Lolo Jeff fondly calls “Manu” (short for “manugang” or child-in-law). Since they were not aware yet of the real score between them, Liza implied that they should not worry and promised them, “I’m responsible and I know my limitations. And I know my self-worth.”

Family should always be the first priority

While their ardent shippers have been so excited to see them finally together, the MayWard tandem admitted that both of them are actually not ready yet to take their relationship to the next level.

When asked what keeps them from doing so, Edward Barber said that it’s “oras, timing, age, and wisdom.” But for Maymay Entrata, it’s her responsibilities to her family.

“Marami pa kasi kaming priority sa buhay naming. ‘Yong pamilya ko, tinutustusan ko po ‘yong pag-aaral niya. Tapos maiiba kasi ‘yong priority ko kapag sobrang napamahal,” she expressed.

Family will always be by your side

Since they’re still teenagers, both the families of Kyle Echarri and Francine Diaz have never left their sides to continue guiding and supporting them both in their personal lives and career. In fact, they made an effort to get to know each other off-cam, as what they shared in Magandang Buhay guesting last year.

Kyle wasn’t able to contain his emotions as well when he began to talk about his Popshie Joe, who has been supportive of him and who loves him unconditionally. Besides, his dad even gives him pieces of advice regarding his acting performances.

Your partner and friends are family too

Being her on-and-off-screen sweetheart for almost a decade now, Kim Chiu revealed to the Magandang Buhay momshies during her Cebu homecoming in 2018 that she had already taken Xian Lim a number of times at her hometown and introduced him to her clan. In fact, her grandma even displayed a photo of him at home along with the pictures of their family. Indeed, they’ve already considered him a part of their huge and happy fam!

Always keep in mind that family is the best gift in the world

As someone who values and loves their families so much, the LoiNie tandem weren’t able to hold their emotions when they heard and read the poignant messages of their loved ones during their guesting in Magandang Buhay last year.

“Sobrang saya na nakikita ko silang masaya kasi hindi ‘yon ‘yong nakita kong saya sa mukha nila noong naghirap kami. Simula no’ng nag-artista ako, natulungan ko sila at sobrang name-miss ko ‘yong mga kapatid ko sa ibang bansa. Kaya Ma, Pa, mahal na mahal ko kayo [ng] mga kapatid ko. Hindi man ako laging kasama n’yo pero nagpupursige ako para sa kanilang lahat talaga,” Ronnie Alonte tearfully expressed after seeing the video greeting of his parents and siblings.

Meanwhile, Loisa Andalio wasn’t able to help herself from crying after reading the letter sent by her Momshie Sandie, who has been by her side throughout her life. She also conveyed how much she misses her Popshie who she hasn’t seen for a long time now.

Cherish your loved ones at all times

As she didn’t want to make the people around her to get worried and sad about her, it was only to her new on-screen partner-turned-best friend  Seth Fedelin to whom Andrea Brillantes was able to confide everything she felt when her grandfather got ill and died eventually.

According to Seth, he did it since he already knew what it feels to lose a loved one.

May these Kapamilya stars inspire you to make the most of your time with your families this holiday season. Merry Christmas, Kapamilya!
