Kapamilya Snaps: These local celebs are talented painters as well!

They are absolutely admired because of their captivating visuals and their remarkable performances on-cam – may it be acting, singing, dancing, and/or hosting. However, you’ll definitely get more amazed once you find out that our favorite local celebrities have other talents as well.

While some of them have incredible knack in music, there are some who have astonishing skills in visual arts, just like the famous personalities included in this episode of Kapamilya Snaps!

Aside from being heartthrobs and brilliant actors and musicians, did you know that Ian Veneracion and Xian Lim are also great painters as well? In fact, they had already featured their works in exhibits in the past years – the Make It With You actor had his third solo art exhibit dubbed “Primordial” in 2014, while the Love Thy Woman leading man held his inaugural solo art exhibit in 2017 and went on to join group art expos later on. Ian, who’s the son of well-known painter Roy Veneracion, was also hailed by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts as its honorary arts ambassador last year.

Seasoned actresses Solenn Heusaff and Heart Evangelista are not only known in front of the camera, but are growing more prominent in the local art scene as well. Both of them have already featured their masterpieces in exhibits, with the former hosting her first-ever display in 2016 titled “Our People” and succeeded by “Kalsada” a year after, while the latter has already showcased her works in her seven solo exhibits and a few collaborations with other artists in the previous years. The same went for Bangs Garcia, who used to juggle her career as an actress with her sideline as a budding painter.

Heart and Solenn are also using art to give back as portions of the sales of their exhibits and special collections are donated to the foundations and groups they are supporting.

Apart from being equally-gorgeous, another fantastic quality that Angel Locsin, Beauty Gonzalez, and Heaven Peralejo share are their hidden talent in painting. The Iba ‘Yan host and The General’s Daughter lead actress wowed her Instagram followers when she posted her recreation of one of the masterpieces of contemporary painter Leonid Afremov.

The Kadenang Ginto star, on the other hand, has been fascinated with all forms of art ever since she was a kid, which is so evident in their art-filled abode. Thus, Beauty’s art curator husband Norman Crisologo encouraged her to take up painting and she fully dove in with a wall-sized canvas.

It was probably in her exclusive interview on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s Kapamilya Chat that we discovered Heaven’s inclination to visual arts. The Pamilya Ko actress revealed that she used to sketch clothes and gowns, until she decided to try her hand on painting in 2016 when she created her first-ever masterpiece for her mom’s birthday.

Meanwhile, Bea Alonzo, Maymay Entrata, Arci Muñoz, Elisse Joson, Ylona Garcia, and Sue Ramirez may have only begun their journey in the world of fine arts during this pandemic, but they’ve already impressed us with what they could with their skillful hands and mighty imagination.

Looking for a new hobby or way to escape the stresses of life? Why not consider painting and take inspiration from the works of these celebrities?
