Kapamilya Snaps ABS-CBN Ball 2018 2019

Ever since it was launched in 2018, ABS-CBN Ball has, arguably, become one of the biggest and grandest star-studded events in the local entertainment and fashion scenes, making it also among the most highly anticipated. It has featured more celebrity guests and offered more stylish red carpet moments that would surely be remembered for a long time.

And as we look forward on its much-awaited return this coming September 30, let’s revisit first how some of our favorite Kapamilya stars brought shimmer and suave at the red carpet of ABS-CBN 2018 and 2019 in this edition of Kapamilya Snaps!

Maymay Entrata

Aside from her victorious stint in Pinoy Big Brother Lucky Season 7, did you know that Maymay was also a certified Big Winner at the Ball? Her pink “angel” backless dress, which had a serpentine silhouette and long train, as well as decked with faux feathers and intricate embroideries, won her the “Beautiful Star of the Night”.

The following year, her radiant beauty made more resplendent by her heavily-beaded cathedral-inspired gold terno brought her the “Belle of the Ball” award that dazzling night.

Jane de Leon

From firing up the red carpet in a sultry and intricate red dress that she wore in 2018, Jane then opted for a more conservative yet effortlessly chic look at the second annual Ball. Jane paraded in a powder blue Maria Clara number to the second annual Ball, which she punctuated by putting her hair in a loose low bun and wearing a “Darna”-inspired pearl necklace. Despite appearing quite simple, she still took home the “Beauty on the Rise” award.

Janella Salvador

For the first ABS-CBN Ball in 2018, Janella seemingly transformed into a living Barbie doll by putting on an elegant deep-V neck bright pink ball gown. The following year, she opted for a tailored modern Filipiniana dress with bishop sleeves and deep-V neckline that surely made heads turn.

Joshua Garcia

Just like most of the gents that attended the first-ever edition of the Ball, Joshua also shied away from the typical black suit and tie. He appeared in a dark teal velvet tuxedo that he wore over a crisp white shirt, a beige bowtie, and black trousers.

Going solo at the ABS-CBN Ball 2019, Joshua looked so debonair in his black-on-black ensemble. Adhering to that year’s theme, he donned a black Barong Tagalog with intricate embroideries.

Donny Pangilinan

Another male celebrity to opt out of the classic black and white formal attire in 2018 was Donny, who arrived in a moss green three-piece suit that he donned over a black shirt and bowtie. The following year, Donny strutted all by himself in a beaded black Barong Tagalog.

Sue Ramirez

In the years that she’d been attending shindigs mounted by ABS-CBN, Sue is among those who have consistently stunned us with their looks. For the inaugural staging of the Ball, she mesmerized us in a shimmery burgundy number that was made extra bolder by her pixie cut.

Sue once again went for something sparkly, stylish, and sassy by sashaying down the red carpet of ABS-CBN Ball 2019 in a bedazzled nude and gold Filipiniana.

Jane Oineza

For 2018, the Nag-aapoy na Damdamin star picked a simple yet elegant glittery sweetheart cream dress that was made classier by her center-parted lob and bold makeup.

At the next ball, Jane nailed the Modern Filipiniana look through a form-fitting black dress with sheer bustier and butterfly sleeves, bold makeup, and wavy fringed lob.

Ria Atayde

As attendees of ABS-CBN Ball 2018 paraded on the red carpet with blue ribbons pinned on their chests to signify their support to the global battle against child abuse, which was one of the advocacies of that year’s beneficiary, Bantay Bata 163, it seemed that Ria further showed her staunch support by wearing a simple but gorgeous blue ball gown.

The Nag-aapoy na Damdamin actress then got herself cladded in a white dress with ruffles on its skirt and dainty floral accents in the succeeding year.

Alexa Ilacad

For her appearance in 2018, Alexa truly gave prom queen vibes in her one-shoulder gray embellished frock with silver embellishments and white tulle overlay on its skirt. The Pira-Pirasong Paraiso actress then gave off strong, independent woman feels in her intricate Modern Filipiniana number that was a fusion of Barong Tagalog and terno the following year.

Charlie Dizon

It seems that the Pira-Pirasong Paraiso actress is a fan of the nude color as seen in the ensembles that she wore in the past two Balls. For the first staging in 2018, Charlie arrived in an embellished nude off-shoulder dress with thigh-high slit. While in 2019, she captivated us in her floor-length nude terno that featured intricate floral embroideries.

Chie Filomeno

We can all agree that Chie really looked enchanting in the beaded beige slip dress with a deep-V neckline and a long sheer cape that she donned in 2018. That look might have received mixed reactions from onlookers, but Chie still went home with the “Next Generation Star” award that glitzy night.

The same happened the following year because of her glittery grey terno in 2019 that featured a corset-like bodice and the gleaming sheer overlay. But being an empowered femme fatale, she, of course, didn’t back down from the bashers.

Moira Dela Torre

For her maiden appearance at the Ball in 2018, Moira attended in a shimmering nude and silver frock with deep-V neckline, thigh-high slit, and glistening sheer cape attached to its sleeves. She came with her “kuya” Sam Milby as her handsome arm candy. Then in 2019, the Queen of Hugot Songs picked a fabulous red terno made splendid by the beaded patterns that cascaded from its bodice down to its voluminous skirt.

Jake Cuenca

Being one of the most constantly present celebrity attendees at the annual gala, we have surely witnessed the fashion evolution of Jake through the years. In 2018, he was among those who deviated from the usual men’s formal attire by completing his tuxedo with a white coat.

The following year, the The Iron Heart actor looked hot in a white barong with a gigantic sun embroidery on both shoulders.

Richard Gutierrez

Richard was present in the first ABS-CBN Ball in 2018 and served us with his timeless handsomeness by putting on classic tuxedo and matching it with red-tinted shades. The The Iron Heart actor went for a “sustainable” white Barong Tagalog that was reportedly made up of his four old ones.

Dimples Romana

While women were expected to sashay in fabulous gowns, chose to go against the current by stepping on the red carpet in an all-black suit in 2018. Making her look fierce like her iconic Kadenang Ginto character was her strong makeup (the bold red lips, though!) and deviant white earrings.

The seasoned actress once again appeared in a suit in the next Ball, but, this time, a red one with a long train and small puffed long sleeves. She accentuated it with a broad gold and black belt and dewy makeup.

Jodi Sta. Maria

Those who have seen her on the Star Magic Ball would know that Jodi was so fond of changing her style, from her hair to her ensemble, every year. And for the premiere of ABS-CBN Ball, she was among the scene-stealers in her simple yet stylish nude ball gown, which she matched with her fringed bob, moss green hand bag, and cute nude belt.

She then graced the red carpet the following year in a black pantsuit with a bedazzled corset-like bodice and an enormous black ribbon attached on the right side of her waist.

Angelica Panganiban

Looking utterly elegant in an emerald green slip dress with sparling neckline, there’s definitely no doubt that Angelica was hailed the “Female Face of the Night” in 2018. The following year, the seasoned actress chose a floor-length red terno that had intricate embroideries on its bodice and butterfly sleeves and ruffle details that cascaded on its ball skirt.

JC de Vera

Also breaking away from the typical men’s look was JC, who attended in 2018 in an emerald green suit that he accentuated with a quirky yellow necktie and brown oxfords. In the next Ball, the Nag-aapoy na Damdamin actor was among those who strutted in a classic white Barong Tagalog, which really gave off maginoo vibe.

Zanjoe Marudo

In 2018, the bespectacled Zanjoe walked down the red carpet in a black and white suit, leaving his jacket unbuttoned that made him appear laidback and…okay, sexier. The following year, the Dirty Linen actor truly made our jaws drop in his all-black ensemble, which featured a classic black Barong Tagalog.

Coco Martin

Last, but definitely not the least, was Coco, who marked his return to the red carpet in 2018 by putting on a typical black and white tux. And for his second time, the FPJ’s Batang Quiapo lead actor-director stuck to his humble style by wearing a classic Barong Tagalog.
