Last Sunday, May 14, our social media newsfeeds were filled with slew of heartwarming tributes to moms, wives, and other mother figures in our lives as the world celebrated Mother’s Day. Of course, our favorite celebrities also made sure to make the special woman or women in their lives feel extra loved by proudly posting their photos, either throwback or recent ones (or even both) and declaring their deep affection to them through their touching messages. At the same time, there were also moms who reflected about their motherhood journey, especially the first-time ones.

Lovi Poe
Taking a break from posting anything related to FPJ’s Batang Quiapoo, Lovi shared a cute throwback with “the strongest and most loving person she knows, her mom Rowena Moran. She further wrote: “Thank you for always being someone I can hold on to.” Rowena sweetly commented on that post, saying: “Thank you for the kind words Anak...to my two amazing daughters [Lovi and Yela] I love you so much… You both are my life, pride & joy…. Thank you for making me so proud of you both. Always take care. [sic]”
Janella Salvador
Ever since disclosing that she’s already a mom in January 2021, Janella has been treating fans to a series of adorable pictures from her journey so far with her little boy Jude. And for Mother’s Day this year, the Janella shared a carousel of some of her fondest memories with him and captioned it: “This year’s post isn’t a glamorous one. Just raw, real and full of love. Thank you for giving me a reason to celebrate today.”
Anne Curtis
On her fourth Mother’s Day this year, Anne received a card and bouquet from her beloved husband Erwan Heusaff and their firstborn Dahlia Amelie. The It’s Showtime mainstay expressed her gratitude for being chosen to be the adorable girl’s Mama, as well as took the opportunity to impart her message to other moms like her. She expressed: “I know that sometimes, we all tend to doubt ourselves, but just in case you needed to hear this - we all have our own unique motherhood journey and YOU are doing an amazing job. YOU are enough for your littles one/s.”
Iza Calzado
The euphoric first-time mom chose to inject a little humor to the special occasion – which she celebrated for the first time this year – by revealing the “expectations vs reality” of motherhood in a hilarious post. In another post, Iza expressed her heartfelt message to her daughter Deia and paid tribute to other moms, particularly her late mom Mary Ann and mother-in-law Friday. Iza wrote in another post: “Feeling the energy of all the mothers who came before me and those who come after me. What an honor to be given this gift of bringing life to earth.”
Jessy Mendiola
It was also Jessy’s first time to celebrate Mother’s Day. Of course, her husband Luis Manzano made sure to make her feel extra loved and special by paying tribute to her on IG. The I Can See Your Voice host posted a set of snaps of Jessy with their unica hija Isabella Rose and captioned it: “Happy Mother’s day to the best momma! Peanut is the luckiest because she gets to call you Mama. We love and appreciate everything you do Momma! Happy first mother’s day. [sic]”
Sofia Andres
She may already be a mom herself, but Sofia made sure to make her Mama Monette feel extra loved during the special occasion by apparently taking her on a simple mother-daughter date. In an IG post, the The Iron Heart actress described her mom as “my Wonder Woman”.
Sue Ramirez
In a rare chance, Sue shared a set of sweet and adorable photos of her with her beloved Mama Concepcion through the years. Sue captioned it: “Love you more than words can say. Happy Mother’s Day to the love of my life.”
Kathryn Bernardo
With her Mommy Min being there by her side throughout her two-decade, prolific showbiz career, Kathryn, of course, didn’t miss the opportunity to pay homage to her. Kathryn kept it simple and short by sharing some of her mom’s beautiful moments through the years and attached “Ily mama (brown heart)” to it.
Jhong Hilario
The It’s Showtime host had an intimate fete for his beloved partner Maia and his Mama Nelly. Jhong described his nanay as “our strongest woman.” In another post, he also showed admiration for Maia, who he fondly calls “Pangs,” by telling her, “Thank you for being a great Mommy to Sarina!”
Ogie Alcasid
The OPM icon also had a simple celebration of Mother’s Day for wife Regine Velasquez, together with children Nate and Leila, went out for a sweet dinner celebration. Of course, he also didn’t forget to honor his Mommy Herminia Alcasid in a separate Instagram post.
Angeline Quinto
It might be the occasion of moms like her, but the Queen of Teleserye Theme Songs chose to dedicate it to her firstborn Sylvio, as well as all moms in the world. Angeline captioned her post, “Ikaw ang dahilan kung bakit ako nag cecelebrate ng Mother's day ngayon. Buong buhay ko ay para sayo Sylvio. Nawala man ang Mama Bob, alam kong isa siya sa humiling sa itaas para makilala at makasama kita.”
Jolina Magdangal
The Magandang Buhay momshie-host also put the spotlight on her kids Pele and Vika in her IG post. According to her, she feels “so empowered as a mother because they are my ‘engine’.” Jolina captioned the post: “To my Pele and Vika.. thank you for always burning Mama’s fuel so i can keep on going and moving without an effort. You never failed to remind me to believe in myself. I love you both soooo much!”
RK Bagatsing
RK praised all mothers in his Mother’s Day post, most especially his own Mama Marilou. The FPJ’s Batang Quiapo star wrote: “Sa lahat ng nanay sa buong mundo, maraming salamat sa walang pagod na pag intindi, pag alaga at pagmamahal sa amin. Happy Mothers Day po sa inyong lahat.”
Darren Espanto
Hearts of Darren’s fans surely fluttered when he greeted his beautiful Mama Marinel a “Happy Mother’s Day” by sharing some of their fondest memories together. D’ Total Performer uploaded a set of snaps that were taken during their vacations from different parts of the world and on her 21st birthday last year.
JC de Vera
JC celebrated two of the most special women in his life on Mother’s Day – his wife Rikkah, his mom Carmen, and his mother-in-law Rhonaliza. He posted some of their photos and captioned it: “Happy Mother's Day to the woman who has always been there for me, who has shown unwavering support, and who has been my biggest cheerleader. Thank you for being my constant source of love and inspiration.”
Enzo Pineda
He may appear tough in The Iron Heart, but Enzo is actually a sweet son in real life. On Mother’s Day, he shared a snap with his girlfriend Michelle Vito and his Mama Macy taken when he completed his basic citizen military course as a Marine reservist under the Philippine Navy, and wrote: “Happy mothers day to the most sweetest and most loving mom.” He also gifted her a bouquet of pink roses, as seen in his Mama Macy’s IG post.

The Mars Ravelo’s Darna star seemingly celebrated Mother’s Day a week earlier as she shared cute selfies with her Mommy Marie that perfectly capture their special bond. She wittily captioned it: “With my sister.. ay mom pala hahaha! I love you!”

Being a true beauty queen that she is, Catriona indeed touched hearts with her tribute to her “young mama bear” Mita. She posted a gorgeous selfie of them together and wrote: “You are a daily reminder of how good God is for blessing me with such a strong, caring and loving mum. To more adventures, belly aching laughs and shared time together. Love you mama!”
Ivana Alawi
The Alawi Fam has been busy travelling to different parts of the world recently, as seen in Ivana’s vlogs. But, of course, Ivana didn’t miss to honor their Mama Alawi, Fatima Marbella, on Mother’s Day by posting a cute photo of them together from their recent trip to Spain.

While her character Zoe in the iWantTFC original series Teen Clash may have a rough relationship with her mom, songstress-actress Jayda actually has a beautiful bond with her mom, Jessa Zaragoza. Jayda captioned the post: “No matter how old I get, I know I’m always gonna need you.”
