Kapamilya Snaps: Most promising young actors ready for the big time

Isn’t it so inspiring to see how young people are already achieving their dreams? Some take years before they discover their talents and passion and several more to hit that mark where they can say, “I made it”. So when a handful come along, the grit and dedication they have is truly amazing.

Who can be considered as part of that group? Well the actors in this Kapamilya Snaps video are more than enough. With some of them taking steps towards their dreams even before hitting their teens, their promise in the entertainment industry just continues to grow.

Before the dashing Kyle Echarri caught our hearts in his major roles today, he pursued one of his first loves — singing. In 2015, he entered The Voice Kids as a small boy with an amazing voice. As he landed a spot on Coach Sarah’s team, he started getting into the music industry. He may not have won The Voice, but he is still producing music with his albums, collabs, and performances on ASAP.

Shortly after his sting on the singing contest, Kyle realized his talent for acting went on to take on small television and movie roles. Eventually, he got his big break on the viral afternoon drama Kadenang Ginto as the love interest of Cassie (Francine Diaz), Kristoff/Tope.

His fellow young actor on the teleserye, Seth Fedelin, is another we can’t get off this list. When his bid to reach the finals on Pinoy Big Brother Otso did not succeed, Seth didn’t want to let go of his showbiz dreams. He knew he had the talent so he worked hard and attended workshops to improve his craft. Eventually, when he entered Kadenang Ginto as Mikoy, we all discovered that he had that natural knack for acting. Soon after, the rising heartthrob got a guest role in the popular and longest-running serye, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.

Our favorite young stars also had their own idols when they started out. Enzo Pelojero impersonated the King of Hearts Daniel Padilla on the 2015 It’s Showtime segment, “Mini Me”. The madlang people loved him so much that he later came back on the show’s “Sine Mo ‘To” as Vhong Navarro’s brother.

His charms, of course, shouldn’t be limited to the noontime show so this little star opened his world to teleseryes. Not long after, he got casted in My Dear Heart and after two years, got his first lead role as Buboy on Starla.

Goin’ Bulilit is not just known for its fun comedy sketches. We also consider it as the first home of many child actors and actresses. Raikko Mateo is one of those kids and at a mere age of 12, he already has portrayed roles more than some actors older than him. They’re not just small roles too because he starred in the fantasy-drama Honesto and the family drama Walang Iwanan. He’s also known for his role as Ponky primetime drama series Pamilya Ko.

JJ Quilantang may be a sweet looking little boy but his acting career is already astounding. His short role as the young Tristan (Daniel Padilla) in La Luna Sangre caught the attention of many. Right after, he was already being cast in the 2017 Vice Ganda MMFF film, “GandarrapIddo: The Revenger Squad” and given the lead role in the 2018 family drama Playhouse as the son of Marlon (Zanjoe Marudo) and Patty (Angelica Panganiban).

Another star who succeedingly got numerous roles after playing a younger version of a popular character is Izzy Canillo. After he acted as the young Juan Dela Cruz in Coco Martin’s superhero series, he got his own spin-off series entitled, My Little Juan. This led him to gain notable roles in teleseryes like Dyesebel, My Dear Heart, and Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin.

Also from Goin’ Bulilit is Marco Masa, but you may know him better as the angel Nathaniel in the 2015 series of the same name. His remarkable acting there led him to star alongside Dominic Ochoa in My Super D as his son, Dennis. Proving his versatility, Marco also played as a content in the second season of Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids.

Child actor Onyok Pineda has come a long way as well in making a name for himself. He first tried his hand in acting by joining the It’s Showtime segment, “Mini Me” where he was a mini version of rock star Bamboo. This appearance of his allowed him to be recognized and invited to star in Coco Martin’s popular serye, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano and the 2017 MMFF film, “Ang Panday”.

For the next one on the list, it may just be easier for us to say he’s Santino in the classic 2009 teleserye May Bukas Pa because of how memorable Zaijian Jaranilla portrayed the role. Despite his name being glued to Santino, Zaijian has done well in marking his name in the industry portraying other great characters too like Jacob Perez/Eli in Noah and as Liksi in the fantasy Bagani.

Starting off from a commercial role and being a part of Star Magic’s Gimme 5 boy band, Grae Fenandez grew into an exceptional actor. In 2019, we admired his skill in portraying the bida-kontrabida role of Mateo in Hiwaga ng Kambat. Today, we continue to watch him take on more challenging roles such as Jake in the heavy revenge drama teleserye Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin.

These budding young actors have a long way to go in their career but, without a doubt, we’ll be here to witness their growth and journey. Which one are you most excited to see more in our Kapamilya teleseryes and movies?
