For many of us, the Holy Week break is indeed among the most anticipated periods of every year since this is when we usually have the opportunity to get our much-needed rest from work and/or school, to reflect and go on a little retreat, and to reconnect with our loved ones whom we haven’t seen nor bonded with for quite some time. 

And just like us, our favorite celebrities also took advantage of the recent long weekend to take a break from their showbiz commitments and busy schedules and do the things that they probably missed doing or have been yearning to do. Donny Pangilinan went on an out-of-town escapade with family

The Can’t Buy Me Love leading man kept his followers updated with his ganaps by sharing on Instagram some of the snaps that he captured during his family’s retreat in Mabini, Batangas. Donny went diving with his youngest sister Sola and had a morning ride around the town on his bike, which are two of his favorite hobbies. 

Anne Curtis traveled to Taiwan with Erwan and Dahlia

Being the jetsetter family that they are, it wasn’t surprising that Anne, her husband Erwan Heussaff, and their unica hija Dahlia chose to travel last Holy Week. The It’s Showtime mainstay shared a carousel of pictures that she took during their laidback trip to Taiwan, wherein they got to roam around its capital Taipei and even tried some delicacies, while all cladded in matching plain white shirt and denim jeans ensembles. 

Ria Atayde and Zanjoe Marudo officially became Mr. and Mrs.

Around a month after announcing their engagement last February, Ria and Zanjoe surprised everyone when they shared on IG some of the pictures taken during their intimate civil wedding held exactly on her birthday last March 23. For their honeymoon, the newlyweds went on a fun beach trip with the actress’ family.

Jhong Hilario and partner Maia celebrated Sarina’s 3rd birthday

Instead of hosting a traditional party for the 3rd birthday of their unica hija Sarina, Jhong and his longtime partner Maia opted to celebrate it by having a series of charity events. They held a simple yet fun children’s party at an orphanage in San Juan. It’s the proud parents’ way of sharing their blessings with less fortunate kids and teaching Sarina the value of giving back and helping those who are in need. 

Vhong Navarro flew to South Korea with his wife and two sons

Vhong chose to spend the Holy Week by traveling together with his wife Tanya and his sons Yce and Fredriek. They visited Nami Island, mingled with adorable alpacas, and explored Gangnam during their short yet memorable trip.

Darren Espanto had a refreshing vacation with his family in Batangas

Fans of Darren were surely delighted as he treated his followers on Instagram with photos of him enjoying the summer sun and refreshing pool water of a luxury resort in Batangas. He then spent Good Friday marveling at the scenic view in the resort owned by celebrity couple John Prats and Isabel Oli together with his sister Lynelle. It was definitely a much-deserved break after being “hard-launched” as the newest addition to the ever-growing It’s Showtime family.

Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez went on a relaxing retreat in Balesin

The OPM icons kicked off the Holy Week by having their small group, in which they got to review Jesus Christ’s resurrection together with their friends. They then went to Balesin Island for their family trip, in which Ogie continued to train Regine and even got to jam onstage, performing one of his new songs titled “Hey Girl.” Indeed, there’s nothing that could separate them from their passion for music, even a vacation. 

Jane Oineza and RK Bagatsing reconnected with nature

For the umpteenth time, the celebrity couple made their ardent shippers kilig when they shared a few snaps and clips taken from their fun and romantic camping trip with their friends in a nature camp in Tanay, Rizal. Seeing them all smiles in their photos and videos, there’s definitely no doubt that Jane and RK enjoyed every moment of their “#OfflineAdventure.”

It seemed that the first quarter of 2024 was already pretty hectic for Sofia as we see her traveling to different countries and attending various events since January. Thus, she really deserved the most recent vacation she had with her beloved family in Dumaguete City.

From simply being colleagues, Angelica and Judy Ann went on to become the best of friends in real life. Thus, many are delighted every time we see them together, such as when their families spent Easter Sunday. While most celebrities spent the Holy Week this year going on vacations, Melai and her family decided to make it more meaningful not only by spending it together, but by also remembering the true essence of the occasion. The Magandang Buhay host shared the video of her youngest daughter Stella being emotional because of Jesus’ sacrifices. Their family also attended the Easter Sunday mass together. 

However we chose to spend this year’s Holy Week, may we be always reminded of the true reason of this season.
