Kapamilya Snaps: First-ever teleserye roles of Kapamilya actresses before getting that big break

Kapamilya female stars may have shone so brightly with their remarkable lead roles in teleseryes and movies that we tend to forget that they were once newbies in the entertainment industry.

In this Kapamilya Snaps episode, let’s go all the way back to the beginning and revisit their first-ever appearances in teleseryes. These roles show how they started their respective stellar journeys as Kapamilya artists.

The beautiful sweetheart Liza Soberano got her big break on her first-ever teleserye with love team partner turned boyfriend Enrique Gil, Forevermore. We have to admit her portrayal of the hardworking Agnes was loved by thousands of new fans and, maybe, that’s because she’s been honing her talent a few years already.  Her first appearance and lead role was actually in 2011 on the Wansapanataym series, “Mac Ulit-Ulit”.

The Queen of Hearts Kathryn Bernardo assumed lots of roles before obtaining her rightful crown. Before she even reached the age of 10, she has been working as a young actress already. You might remember her during her Goin’ Bulilit days, but few people recall that her first appearance was her portrayal of the younger version of Bea Alonzo’s character on It Might Be You.

Maja Salvador, our iconic Ivy Aguas from Wildflower, didn’t always take the fierce bida-kontrabida roles. Her first step onto showbiz was a supporting role in It Might Be You as the young and sweet Cara. Since then she has taken on more challenging roles, proving that she is a skilled and versatile artist.

Calling Judy Ann Santos a veteran actress isn’t enough as this 42-year-old teleserye queen has been delivering top notch performances for over 30 years already. With countless Juday seryes and shows we have seen, it was almost impossible to trace back exactly her first acting gig, a small part in the 1986 teleserye Kaming Mga Ulila.

Another star that has been acting for decades is the phenomenal multi-media star Jolina Magdangal. She rose to be named as the Queen of Pinoy Pop Culture after her first-ever television stint on the comedy variety show Ang TV in 1992.

One of our prized drama serye actresses, Yam Concepcion, has gone viral these days for her feisty acting in Halik and Love Thy Woman. Little do we know, she has been getting into such intense roles ever since her first ever television series casting in Dugong Buhay back in 2013.

Nowadays, it would be a surprise if you didn’t know Bea Alonzo because of her numerous appearances in trending movies and teleseryes. Before she became the amazing actress she is today, Bea began her career on the 2002 youth-oriented series K2Bu.

Bea wasn’t the only one that made their debut on K2Bu because 2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach also made her first on-screen appearance on the show when she was beginning to act before her pageant run.

Young stars, although just starting out, are also slowly gaining astounding applause from viewers. Andrea Brillantes, who is known to have had her big break when she starred in the drama Annaliza, was already acting and making small appearances on shows before it came out. The first was her role in Precious Hearts Romances Presents Alyna.

As Andrea went on to bigger roles, most especially when she played Marga in Kadenang Ginto, we got to meet another talented budding actress, Francine Diaz, who played Cassie. This project is what set her name in stone as a star, but before she got this big break, Francine has already been testing the waters in showbiz in various teleserye roles. Her first one was as a young Sari in the 2015 heated teleserye, Pasión de Amor.

Is it your first time finding out about these actresses’ first on-screen parts? It sure is surprising and inspiring to see how far they have come, with their never-ending stream of remarkable projects.
