We have probably watched a lot of romance movies and series throughout our lives. However, we can all agree that nothing beats the sweetest love stories that happened in real life, such as what the celebrities we listed in this Kapamilya Snaps feature are blessed to have.
As 2023 comes to an end, let’s find out who among our favorite stars are about to begin the new chapter of their lives after getting engaged to their respective partners.
Angelica Panganiban and Gregg Homan
First on this list is Angelica, who has finally found her forever love and happiness in her beloved fiancé Gregg. Just in case you missed it, their romance blossomed in 2020 when they met in Subic, Zambales where he resides, while she was there for the filming of her teleserye Walang Hanggang Paalam.
After simply posting a silhouette photo of them kissing on New Year’s Day 2021, it was in February when Angge fully made their relationship public by uploading a sweet picture of them together with their furbaby Roxy, wherein she called themselves its “dad” and “mom.” She went on to give us glimpses of their life together in the succeeding months through Instagram, including her sappy birthday tribute for him in September of that year.
Just over a year after going “IG official,” Angge enthusiastically announced her pregnancy in March 2022, conveying her excitement on being able to finally portray the most important role in her life – becoming a mom for real. She and Gregg welcomed their daughter Amila Sabine on September 20 of that same year.
Shortly thereafter, they announced their engagement that happened during their vacation in Amanpulo while she was still four months pregnant. And since then, she has been updating us about the latest happenings in their little family, especially the developments of Baby Bean. Last November, Angge marked her “huling kaarawan bilang Ms. Panganiban,” hinting that wedding bells are going to ring for them soon!
Angeline Quinto and Nonrev Daquina
It was in December 2021 when Angeline made the shocking announcement that she was already pregnant. A few months later, she finally introduced her non-showbiz partner and the father of her then-upcoming baby – Nonrev Daquina – through a maternity photoshoot and her gender reveal party organized by her good friend Vice Ganda.
The couple welcomed their firstborn in April 2022, whom they named Sylvio. In September of that year, she first disclosed their engagement during one of her shows in the United States by addressing Nonrev’s mother, who was among the audience, as her “soon-to-be mother-in-law.”
Since then, they’ve been traveling around the country and the world either as a couple or as a family of three, most of which are during Angeline’s concert tours abroad. Despite her busyness, the Queen of Teleserye Theme Songs has managed to become a hands-on mom to Baby Sylvio, with Nonrev helping her out in taking good care of him.
Catriona Gray and Sam Milby
After making their relationship “Instagram official” on Sam’s 36th birthday in May 2020, the two have chosen to keep their relationship private despite being two of the most well-known names in the industry. They only share some of their intimate moments together occasionally, such as their travels in and out of the country and their bonding moments with their beloved Cavalier King Spaniels Theo and Bailey.
And three years later, the actor and the beauty queen shared last February 2023 the newest milestone in their lives and relationship – their engagement. Catriona made the announcement by uploading a photo of themselves holding cups labeled “Mr. Milby” and “Future Mrs. Milby”, while also brandishing the engagement ring that she got from him.
It was followed by their engagement photos taken by the beach, with the Miss Universe 2018 captioning one of the sets of snaps she shared, “Our best chapter yet.”
Robi Domingo and Maiqui Pineda
While most couples in this list met when they’re already adults, the paths of Robi and his fiancée Maiqui initially intertwined when they were still in high school. But it was only at the 2017 ABS-CBN Christmas Party when sparks between them began to fly, thanks to their cupid, Piolo Pascual.
The in-demand host recounted that he actually wanted to skip the after-party, but his friend Piolo convinced him to stay longer until they bumped into Maiqui who also attended the glitzy gathering. They spent the entire night talking with one another, through which their friendship also began. It was during their diving trip in Batangas in August 2018 when they officially became a couple.
Over the years, the couple have celebrated many holidays and special occasions together, as well as traveled to different parts of the country and the world hand-in-hand. This included their trip to Japan in 2022, wherein he finally proposed to her at the iconic Shibuya Crossing with their friends as their witnesses.
They might have to face the challenge posed by Maiqui’s health condition, but nothing would stop them from pushing through with their wedding. As they prepare for it, the couple got us kilig when they shared their pre-wedding film on social media in December 2023.
Kiana Valenciano and Sandro Tolentino
After a couple of heartbreaks, Kiana finally found her “Mr. Right” in her non-showbiz partner Sandro, whom she officially introduced on IG in July 2020. However, this wasn’t the first time that she posted about him on social media, as she posted a birthday tribute for him on his birthday by posing a photo of themselves at the beach.
Their relationship remained low-key, with the couple only sharing snaps of them together occasionally. Among them was on Halloween 2021 when they dressed up as Morticia and Gomez Addams.
Being the proud and doting dad that he is, it was Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano who broke the news in August 2023 that his “beautiful forever-princess” was finally engaged. Kiana, meanwhile, made the announcement on IG with a blurry photo of them kissing, which was probably captured during the proposal, and she captioned it, “Only you (sparkle emoji)”.
And just recently, the singer imparted that games, a.k.a. wedding planning and preparations, have already begun for her. This comes a few days after she and Sandro attended the wedding of her cousin Ella Pangilinan and now-husband Enrique Miranda.
Andi Eigenmann and Philmar Alipayo
Even though she has a stellar showbiz career then, but Andi bravely chose to move to Siargao in 2017 and fully embraces the island life. The following year, she proudly flexed dating professional surfer Philmar Alipayo.
In February 2019, the couple happily announced that they were expecting their first baby together, which turned out to be Lilo, who was born in July of that year. Then in August 2020, they shared that they were expecting their second child.
As their family continued to grow, Philmar decided in December that the right time had finally come to finally pop the question. Andi described it in one of her posts, “And it happened the way I wanted it and so much more. Nothing grand. Unprompted, simple and oh so sincere…That is how I wanted the rest of my life to be. [sic]”
The Happy Islanders fam then welcomed Baby Koa, making them a family of five, including Andi’s first daughter Ellie. Andi and Philmar celebrated their fifth anniversary together as a couple in June 2023. Although they have yet to officially tie the knot, the two are already living their “happily ever after”.
Samantha Bernardo and Scott Moore
The Miss Grand International 2020 1st runner-up and former Pinoy Big Brother housemate started posting photos wither non-showbiz Canadian partner Scott in 2019.
Although it is unclear when their relationship officially started, it was eventually revealed in 2021 that their anniversary is on September. On Valentine’s Day 2023, Sam announced on Instagram that she and Scott were finally engaged. In another post, the Pinay beauty queen had a simple photoshoot to flaunt her dazzling engagement ring.
They then posed for their prenuptial shoot in May 2023 at The Ruins, a popular tourist destination in Negros Occidental. Sam looked divine in a white modern Filipiniana, while Scott was so debonair in a classic Barong Tagalog.
