Who doesn’t love to nibble (or sometimes to gorge) at confectioneries? While not all of us have a knack in creating the perfect and sumptuous cakes, pies, or cupcakes, there are some celebrities who are unbelievably skilled (and patient!) when it comes to whipping up mouth-watering treats.
Find out who they are in this Kapamilya Snaps feature!
Aside from having beautiful, talented, and caring mothers, the respective children of Dimples Romana, Melai Cantiveros-Francisco, and Kristine Hermosa are indeed blessed to have moms who could bake delicious cookies or cakes for them whenever they would crave for some.
Being a natural cook in the kitchen, Huwag Kang Mangamba star Dimples has a cooking series on YouTube where she shares some of her best recipes, including her delicious and healthy carrot cake.
Despite the lockdown, Magandang Buhay momshie-host Melai didn’t let it spoil the birthday celebrations of her beloved daughters. In fact, in April 2020, she made a no-bake chocolate birthday cake decorated with cockroaches for the third birthday of her youngest child Stela.
Another mom who was able to further hone her kitchen skills during the pandemic is Kristine. Out of sheer craving for Spanish bread, she attempted to make her own at home, which turned out to be tasty and shared it with her whole family.
The same goes for happily married ASAP Natin ‘To artists Sarah Geronimo and Yeng Constantino have also made their marriages extra sweet by whipping up delectable treats for their beloved hubbies.
The Popstar Royalty leveled up her baking skills even more during the lockdown, which her husband Matteo Guidicelli could not help but share her creations on Instagram. While the Poprock Royalty found a way to satisfy her sweet tooth despite being a vegan for five years now by making vegan banana bread last year, which recipe she imparted in one of her vlogs on YouTube.
Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres’ unica hija Juliana Gomez also tried baking during the lockdown by starting off with some batches of homemade tasty bagels, which she proudly shared on IG.
Of course, not only the girls are kitchen whiz, but guys as well. Just like It’s Showtime host Anne Curtis’ mon amour Erwan Heussaff who never fails to prepare delicious food and treats for their family and share his recipes and cooking experiences on his YouTube channel. Early in the pandemic, he decided to bake his first-ever sourdough bread.
While the aforementioned celebrities consider baking as a hobby, Ara Mina and Marvin Agustin turn it into business ventures. Whenever she’s not busy with her FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano tapings and taking good care of her family’s needs, Ara is probably working on her own dessert shop Hazelberry Cafe. She put it up many years ago because of her passion for baking even before she became an actress.
Meanwhile, Marvin added baked goods in his plethora of specialties and turned it into home-based dessert store called Mr. Vinmunchies, as many of his restaurants were still closed during the lockdown.
Some of these celebrities have formal training, while others simply follow recipes imparted by a family member or a friend, or they saw on the internet. Let these celebrities inspire you to try something new in the kitchen!
