Kapamilya Snaps: 8 celebrity couples who took their love from REEL to REAL

Sometimes, there are some of us who find it difficult to deviate what’s real from what is just for the reel, especially when it comes to the on-screen pairs whose chemistry have gotten us completely smitten with them.  Thus, we couldn’t help but hope for them to also end up together in real life.

And luckily, some of our wishes came true as the two celebrities we’ve been shipping ardently indeed became a couple as their romances jump from screens to reality. So, in this episode of Kapamilya Snaps, let’s find out who are these famous Kapamilya sweethearts who went from reel to real

Let’s start off with the country’s top loveteams, who from being on-screen partners eventually turned out to become our ultimate couple goals.

Kim Chiu and Xian Lim officially became a loveteam in 2011 when they both headlined the romantic comedy drama My Binondo Girl. It wasn’t actually their first time working together as they used to both appear in the Filipino adaptation of the Korean drama My Girl, wherein she was the leading lady while he had a cameo role.

They compelled us with their portrayals in the next romantic series and dramas they starred in, which had their fans speculating that they’re more than just co-stars. They initially avoided questions about the real score between them, but they later on admitted to being a couple in their separate interviews.

From the moment they got paired in the weekly youth-oriented series Growing Up, we seem to already have the inkling that Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla are going to be huge. And our presumption wasn’t wrong after all as they turned out to become the King and Queen of Hearts because of how they unfailingly won our hearts in their every teleserye and movie stint, such as the box-office hit flick “The Hows Of Us” and the well-loved primetime series La Luna Sangre.

After nine years of spending most of their time together on and off the set, there’s no wonder that they fell in love with one another and have been secretly together for more than five years until their delighting admission last year during the grand media day of the said movie.

It might be their first-ever teleserye together, but Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil immediately got us smitten with their team-up in the 2014 romantic-comedy drama Forevermore. As they went on to top-bill a few more projects, both of them also repeatedly refused to label whatever relationship they have since Liza then was still underage.

Just when we thought that they’re doing everything just for the show, we were all stoked to find out that LizQuen has already been together for than two years during their guesting in Gandang Gabi Vice early last year.

From being mere on-screen partners for two years and making us fall in love as Leah and Clark in On The Wings Of Love, James Reid and Nadine Lustre had brought their relationship to the next level when they became a real-life couple on February 11, 2016. It can be recalled that they announced it during their concert staged a few days after they became officially together.

JaDine might have broken up early this year, but for sure, many of us are still for them to rekindle their beautiful affair since they’ve seemingly kept their friendship.

From love teams, let’s move on to the couples who, from being mere colleagues, have found the one who’ll forever make their hearts beat.

First off are former It’s Showtime hosts Coleen Garcia and Billy Crawford, who have not only gained another set of family in the well-loved noontime program, but also their lifetime partner through one another.

It was in 2014 when they admitted their relationship in front of their It’s Showtime family and the madlang people and after four years, they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony held in Balesin in April 2018. And anytime soon, they’re about to give birth to their much-awaited firstborn!

Avid viewers of the whole Pinoy Big Brother franchise would know that Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco are among its alumni who found love while inside the popular yellow house in 2009 as part of the Double Up edition. Their relationship might have been tested a lot of times, but those obstacles didn’t hinder them from attaining the “forever” everyone is dreaming of.

There might still be challenges along the way, but they’ve been happily married since 2013 and are both hardworking and hands-on parents to their two adorable daughters Amelia Lucille and Stella Rosalind.

Their relationship might have been marred with controversies, but Dawn Chang and Justin Cuyugan have been happily in love for around two years now. It was in January 2018 when the ex-GirlTrends member let the world know about her relationship with her former FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano co-actor through a series of posts on Instagram.

They have been together for a decade, but Mariel Rodriguez and Robin Padilla are apparently becoming more in love with each other as years went by. It can be recalled that they met in a now-defunct noontime program, wherein Mariel was one of the regular hosts while Robin served as its guest host for two weeks.

Others may see it so swift, but that two weeks were enough for them to begin a whirlwind romance and they’ve been inseparable ever since. They got married at the Taj Mahal in Agra, India on August 19, 2010 and are blessed with two beautiful daughters named Maria Isabella and Maria Gabriela.

Stay strong and in love, our beloved Kapamilyas!
