Majority of men normally sport short hair, either because it’s their personal preference, required at work, and other reasons. But there are other guys out there who dared to step out of the norm and grow out their manes, just like the male celebrities featured in this episode of Kapamilya Snaps.
From his victorious stint in Pinoy Big Brother Teen Clash 2010 up to the time when he was still active in acting, James Reid has completely charmed us with his squeaky clean and debonair look. But as he grew mature and continues to make waves in the local music scene, we have noticed how he also changed his image by keeping his hair long, which made him look more awesomely good-looking.
Ever since they started in showbiz, it seems that we haven’t seen It’s Showtime Hashtag member Kid Yambao and PBB alumnus Tommy Esguerra wear their manes really short, right? However, taking a peek on their Instagram accounts, we could spot throwback images of them in their younger years that they used to rock short hairs.
At some point in their lives, Piolo Pascual, Enchong Dee, Ion Perez, JC Santos, and Rico Blanco opted to have long locks, which truly astonished their adoring fans. But they all decided to chop those off either for a different look, for a new role they’re taking on, or for other personal reasons – which made them appear fresher and neater.
After making us fall in love as the long-haired TJ in “My Amanda,” Piolo went back to his usual hair length that we’re able to see in his appearances on ASAP Natin ‘To last year. Enchong and JC, meanwhile, both traded their long locks to shorter ones because of their roles – Enchong as Fr. Seb in Huwag Kang Mangamba and JC for his upcoming flick “More Than Blue.”
We may not know what the main reason behind Ion’s new look that totally surprised his It’s Showtime co-hosts and the madlang people last May, but Rico imparted in his latest vlog that his girlfriend Maris Racal is one of the reasons why he decided to finally cut his own hair that he grew in the past year of the pandemic.
And lastly, aside from compelling us with their acting performances, Paulo Avelino, Jake Cuenca, Josh Colet and Diether Ocampo showed how committed they are to their movie or teleserye characters by growing their hair out. Regardless if a long hairdo suited them or not, what’s more important to these actors is for them to perfectly portray their respective roles.
Paulo is now swooning us as the handsome Andrei Legaspi in Marry Me, Marry You, while Diether, who’s also now a military officer, was truly dapper as Samuel Cordero in Huwag Kang Mangamba. On the other hand, Jake and Josh surely never fail to bewitch us with their recent photos sporting their short hairs.
