Are you also high on the Korean wave? Binging Korean dramas and following all the latest trends and news about it?
You’re not alone because some of our Kapamilya idols are major fans too! In this Kapamilya Snaps episode, find out the celebs that are as in love as we are with K-dramas.
Without a doubt, actress and host Anne Curtis is on this list. The whole world is well aware of her ultimate fangirling over several Korean dramas (and Korean cuties) as she always shares about it on her social media accounts. Remember her pillow with “Goblin” star Gong Yoo’s face on it?
We can also live our fangirl dreams vicariously through Anne as she’s super lucky to have met her Korean idols in real life including Nam Joo-Hyuk, Park Bo-Gum, and Gong Yoo!
Anne shares this K-Drama love with her It’s Showtime co-hosts, Karylle and Vice Ganda. It’s pretty obvious because Karylle didn’t pass up having a selfie with the standees of Lee Min-ho and Gong Yoo at the It’s Showtime studio before. Vice Ganda is also very vocal on Twitter when he’s going through his K-Drama watchlist and expressing his love for his favorite actors and idols.
You might find yourself relating to actress Bela Padilla as a huge K-drama fan since she’s always in line if there’s a fan event or meeting for her favorite Korean actors. Don’t believe it? Check out her snaps at the fan meet-and-greet for Lee Jong-suk and So Ji-Sub.
Do you consider yourself part of the Park Seo-joon fan club? Denise Laurel is too! And she’s probably as obsessed as you. As long as Park Seo-joon is on board a project, best believe Denise has watched it. Plus, she invests time and effort to make amusing photo edits of her and Park Seo-joon as if she’s with the Korean star.
Actress Isabel Oli is also known to watch K-dramas a lot with her husband John Prats. The FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano actor even supports his wife’s favorite activity by editing their faces on the Korean hit drama “Crash Landing On You” poster on a whim.
Janine Gutierrez also loves “Crash Landing On You.” She’s definitely watched it more than once (you probably have too, right?) because Captain Ri never fails to give that kilig we’re looking for. Her newfound fondness for K-drama also led her to appreciate more and more amazing Asian content.
The Megastar Sharon is also in the Korean craze, particularly loving the show “Crash Landing On You” and crushing on the lead actor, Hyun Bin. Her husband, Francis Pangilinan, even supports her; so much so that for their 24th wedding anniversary, he gifted her an edited “Crash Landing On You” theme poster featuring themselves.
You may find this surprising but host Robi Domingo also gets into the Korean hype. A few years back, he made a piano cover of “Beautiful”, one of the most famous songs of the “Goblin” soundtrack. Robi also enjoys taking on Korean culture-related challenges on the show Aja! Aja! Tayo sa Jeju.
If you’re one to favor the Korean classics, multimedia star Jolina Magdangal is one with you. Since 2003, the Magandang Buhay momshie has been hooked on dramas like “Stairway to Heaven”. Up until now, she’s continuously subscribed to different K-dramas and her recent favorites are “Flower of Evil”, “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay”, and, of course, “Crash Landing On You”.
Can you relate with our Kapamilya stars on their passionate love for Korean dramas?
