It is said that weddings are the gorgeous brides’ time to shine. But we kinda beg to disagree as it’s also the grooms’ moment, too!
While brides are truly stunning in their white gowns being the star of this solemn or festive ceremony, grooms, on the other hand, definitely look like charming princes on the big day. Take for example the debonair grooms in Kapamilya teleseryes included in this Kapamilya Snaps feature who left us all smitten with how handsome they were!
Before getting hitched to Alyanna (Yassi Pressman) in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano in 2017, Coco Martin – who’s now famous as Cardo – first became a groom in Walang Hanggan (2012) as his character Daniel married Julia Montes’ Katerina. It can be noticed that he wore Barong Tagalog in both of his weddings.
King of Hearts Daniel Padilla became a groom for the first time when he took on the role of Angelo Buenavista in the 2015 remake of the classic romance drama Pangako Sa ‘Yo, with her queen Kathryn Bernardo as his bride as she portrayed Yna Macaspac.
The same went for Enrique Gil, whose character Tenten married Liza Soberano’s Serena in the well-loved 2016 primetime series Dolce Amore for its “The Most Beautiful Finale”.
Being leading men to a number of teleseryes and movies through the years, Jericho Rosales, Piolo Pascual, Paulo Avelino, Zanjoe Marudo, Joseph Marco, Ian Veneracion, Jake Cuenca, and Gerald Anderson have probably experienced being a groom several times on-screen! But it was their recent teleserye stints that made them truly stood out.
Jericho looked like the ideal groom beside Arci Muñoz in Magpahanggang Wakas as their characters Waldo and Aryann tied the knot on the last episode. The actress was also the bride of Piolo in Since I Found You as their characters Nathan and Dani had a happily ever after in the finale.
Seeing how dapper they were in the wedding suits they wore in their on-screen weddings, we couldn’t wait to see how Kapamilya heartthrobs Paulo, Zanjoe, Joseph, Jake, and Gerald would look like once their turn to be a groom comes in real life!
Paulo was really dashing on his character Gael’s nuptials with Julia Montes’ Ana in Asintado. Zanjoe made our hearts flutter twice with how good-looking his character Marlon was on his first and second marriage with Angelica Panganiban’s Patty in Playhouse.
After everything he had to also go through just to keep Ivy Aguas (Maja Salvador) company, Joseph’s Diego Torillo still looked fresh on their wedding day in Wildflower. The same with Jake’s Isagani who was able to ultimately marry his best friend through an intimate and solemn ceremony after the challenges they had to overcome hand-in-hand in Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Los Bastardos. Gerald’s Gabriel also looked the happiest man on earth as he had his one and only love Bianca (Kim Chiu) to marry.
Meanwhile, James Reid was arguably the ideal groom every girl is dreaming to see at the altar on their wedding day as we saw him take on the important role twice – first was as Clark in the hit 2015 series On The Wings Of Love and second was as Basti in Till I Met You (2016) – both to the characters played by Nadine Lustre.
As both of them are already married, Ian Veneracion and Richard Yap already know how it feels to be standing before the altar and watching the bride walk down the aisle. And they gave us a glimpse of how they looked like on their wedding days through their teleserye stints.
Ian was so suave in the white and black ensemble his character Anton wore when he tied the knot with Bea Alonzo’s Andeng in A Love To Last, while Richard was totally well-groomed in the wedding day of his character “Sir Chief” to Jodi Sta. Maria’s Maya Dela Rosa in Be Careful With My Heart.
Who among these on-screen grooms would you wish to see on your dream wedding?
