“I am so excited. I love Jodi!”

This was what Asian Drama King Jericho Rosales uttered when asked by ABS-CBN showbiz reporter MJ Felipe how he feels working with Jodi Sta. Maria in this exclusive “Lavender Fields” cast reveal special interview. Dreamscape Entertainment, through a social media post on June 14, unveiled that he will portray the role of Tyrone de Vera.

According to him, he’d been wanting to work with her for many years after sharing the screen with her in Pangako Sa ‘Yo, wherein she played Lia, the younger sister of his character, Angelo. But it never happened again, so whenever her name would pop up or he would see her, he would always say that he needed to work with her. Besides, he perceives her as one of the most passionate and dedicated artists out there, and he finds her energy admirable, too.

Thus, when Dreamscape Entertainment presented this project to him, which also serves as his return to teleseryes, he certainly didn’t have to think twice and said, ‘Yes, game. Let’s do it.’

As MJ mentioned that many are expecting to witness an intense acting showdown since their names are now side by side in this project, yet Jericho said that it doesn’t have to be one. He wanted it to be just “play” for them and for everyone to have fun.

Since this serves as his comeback six years after his last television project, which was the hit series Halik, Jericho conveyed that he’s filled with so many emotions.

“Just stepping here again and being here sa [ABS-CBN], it brings so many memories, so many feelings. But it’s all positive, especially everyone’s smiling and saying ‘welcome back’,” he stated.

Then he added, “To be honest with you, pagpasok ko rito sa project na ‘to, it just really feels so exciting. I just wanna get there already; I wanna shoot na; I wanna throw lines with everybody; I wanna read with everybody; I wanna be on set with everybody. I just miss that energy, and everyone’s expressing their excitement. So, for me, that’s a good sign.”

Aside from Jodi, he also expressed his excitement to work with Janine Gutierrez. He divulged that he actually attempted to work with her, recalling that he and his fellow producers called her once to see if she was open to a project with them. However, she was busy at that time.

That’s why he was filled with thrill when Dreamscape Entertainment were researching who to work with and they came up with Janine, which he thinks is the best.

When quizzed by MJ what viewers can expect with “Lavender Fields,” Jericho initially mentioned the exciting cast, which made him commend the people who put together this ensemble. He also hinted that there are going to have a lot of tension, love, and hindrances, as well as warned everyone that they’re going to experience major emotions.

Additionally, despite being in the industry for decades already, he imparted that he still has so much to work on and work with based on the character they gave him, which he’s very much excited to share with everyone.
