Did you know that Baron Geisler is a bookworm and an author, too?

In this episode of Kapamilya Chat, the “Doll House” star talks about his reading habit that started with the Holy Scripture or The Bible, and a few favorites from his book collection.

Baron is very much open about his renewed life since it allows him to spread the Word of God through preaching and his testimonies. When he first entered the rehabilitation, his friends influenced him to open the Bible, which developed his reading habit, “During the course of my recovery program, unti-unti akong nagma-mature. Doon ako nag-start na magbasa from level na kaya ko lang.”

He says that wisdom truly comes from the Lord. Reading is also a process, and in his case, it took him a lot of patience and humility, “It gives me perspective on keeping me grounded. I like that na parang be content with what you have for now. In God’s perfect timing, slowly, slowly, He will give you [wisdom].”

From the Scriptures, he immersed himself in self-help or recovery books. The knowledge and realizations he gets from these books come in handy whenever he speaks in symposiums to share his recovery journey.

The Bible remains his favorite book. But for added knowledge, he flips through self-help materials that allow a better understanding of his psyche. Among his favorites are “The Road Less Traveled” and “Atomic Habits,” as well as those authored by philosophical figures Seneca and Marcus Aurelius. For his daily read, he’s got the meditation book “The Daily Stoic.”

Baron recently launched his second book titled “Surrender: With My Hands Wide Open” which is available via digital copies. Printed versions will be coming out soon.

His first book called “Beast Mode” was published in 2016.
