As the highly talked about iWant digital series “Hoy, Love You” premiered last January 18, one of its cast members Yamyam Gucong dropped by ABS-CBN Entertainment’s Hotspot on Thursday, January 21, not just to promote, but to also talk about the latest happenings in his life.
Maraming, maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat,” he enthused in the beginning of his fun conversation with DJ Jhai Ho.
The host then went on to ask him regarding his recent vacation trip at his hometown in Bohol, wherein he got the chance to unwind, to do the things he used to do prior to his fame, and spend quality time with his family.
According to him, doing so has truly helped him reflect on everything that happened to him in the past years – from the moment he was hailed as the Big Winner of Pinoy Big Brother Otso up to when he began his journey in the local entertainment scene – and take a breather from the hustles and bustles of city life.
Besides, it also helped him get back to his true self – the cheerful and funny Yamyam who the people have loved and supported – and prepare for his first-ever project this 2021, “Hoy, Love You.”
The “Iskulit Bai of Bohol” wasn’t able to hold his excitement as DJ Jhai Ho asked him regarding his reaction on being tapped to become part of the said iWant original series, as well as his experiences in filming it.
He was still in the province then, keeping himself occupied with farming and attending his online classes as a college student, when the management contacted him to offer the project. That left him surprised and overjoyed at the same time as it made him feel that the real Yamyam already went back, so he accepted it unhesitatingly.
Playing the role of Bart, one of the three kolokoys or subordinates of Joross Gamboa’s character, Yamyam imparted that he truly enjoyed the whole duration of their taping and the company of his fellow cast members.
Kaya sobrang na-excite ako na ‘hala, ‘yong JoRox ang makakasama mo!’” he exclaimed, sharing how excited his siblings were as well upon finding out that he would be working alongside phenomenal loveteam Joross Gamboa and Roxanne Guinoo.
Then he added, “Sobrang saya nila at siyempre sa’kin din, JoRox talaga, on-and-off-cam sobrang napaka-humble nila.
Yamyam went on to impart how he and his fellow PBB Otso alumni, especially Team LAYF, have kept in touch during this quarantine. He also imparted his advice to the current batch of housemates.
Don’t [be too harsh to yourself]
DJ Jhai Ho then challenged him to take on the “Hoy Someone!” game, wherein he had to deliver his message to the Kapamilya stars whose portraits were flashed on the screen. The set included Maymay Entrata, Vhong Navarro, Toni Gonzaga, Piolo Pascual, Lou Yanong, Andre Brouillette, Fumiya Sankai, and Jo-Rox.
