Hotspot: K Brosas looks back at challenging yet storied 20-year showbiz career

There’s definitely no stopping “Ultimate Entertainer” K Brosas from delivering good vibes and a great show amid the current crises we’re facing as she’s set to hold her first-ever digital concert dubbed “20K20: 20th Anniversary Digital Concert” this coming July 31 to celebrate her prolific and remarkable two decades in the local entertainment scene.

In her exclusive interview wth DJ Jai Ho on the Facebook Live episode of Hotspot, the comedienne-singer disclosed that the concert was already planned out prior to this pandemic, specifically as early as her 18th anniversary concert in 2018, revealing that it’s supposed to take place in Araneta Coliseum and to guest Vice Ganda, fellow Tawag ng Tanghalan judges Rey Valera and Dulce, and Pokwang.

“Gusto ko pa rin siyang ituloy at gusto ko pa ring ituloy na new normal. Gusto ko tayong gumawa ng kakaibang concert na concert feels talaga siya kahit sa bahay lang nanonood. So ito ‘yong ‘20K20: A Virtual Digital Concert’.

“[May] live band, of course susunod tayo sa safety protocols and social distancing. May venue kami, tapos may live band, may live na back-up vocals, may magandang lights and sounds. So talagang hindi siya bastang FB Live. ‘Yon talaga, concert experience, sa halagang 300 [pesos] lang ‘te,” K divulged.

Even though planning and preparing for the concert amidst this pandemic have been difficult and challenging, their whole ensemble are able to brainstorm via conference calls and to practice their respective parts while waiting for their only rehearsal a day before it.

When asked if there were instances that made her think about her career in the past 20 years, she admitted that just like other artists, she too had undergone that phase.

“Marami, marami. Hindi lang isang beses, marami. I’m pretty sure na lahat tayo naranasan ‘yan.

I’m blessed,” K stated.

Then she added, “‘Yong pagkanta, ‘yong, pag-arte, ‘yong pag-host, ‘yong pagsayaw may workshop d’yan e. Pero ‘yong pagiging komedyante, ‘yong pagiging funny, innate ‘yan e, ‘di ba? Wala ‘yang science behind it. So, ‘pag ikaw binless ni Lord na kahit papaano medyo may pagka-witty, funny ka, tapos binless ka pa niya na marunong kang kumanta, aba’y ‘wag mo dapat i-take for granted ‘yon. Masyado akong blessed para umarte. Kaya fight lang nang fight. So, thank you naman [dahil after] 20 years andito pa rin ako.”

Aside from that, K also went on to impart how her life has been during the community quarantine and her dolling up must-haves in the “Make-up Pouch Raid” segment. Click on the video to find out what happened in their fun conversation.
