Throughout her exceptional journey in the local entertainment scene in the past two decades (and counting!), we’ve witnessed Jane Oineza play a variety of roles ever since she was only five years old. And before we get to see her take on another challenging character in the upcoming drama The Broken Marriage Vow, let’s take a look back on her transformation in this episode of PUSH Evolution!
Born Elizabeth Jane Oineza, she started her career as a child star in the early 2000s as she portrayed the younger counterparts of the lead characters in the primetime soap operas Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas (2003) and Marina (2004).
In 2005, we get to see her comedic side and other talents when she became among the pioneer cast members of the kiddie gag show Goin’ Bulilit. Along with her batchmate Kathryn Bernardo, she had a special participation in the 2007 afternoon series Prinsesa ng Banyera, as she played the young Maningning Burgos (Kristine Hermosa). The following year, she starred as one of the young leads in the fantasy-action series Kung Fu Kids and took part in the teleserye Ligaw na Bulaklak.
She went on to appear in various Kapamilya series, such as in Katorse (2009), Magkano Ang Iyong Dangal (2010), Reputasyon (2011), Maria la del Barrio (2011), Oka2kat (2012), and Aryana (2012), as well as in variety shows Shout Out! (2010) and ASAP.
However, it was in the “Manika” episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya wherein Jane’s performance as the rape victim “Nene” was recognized. She earned a finalist certificate for Best Performance by an Actress at the New York Festivals International Television and Film Awards and a nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Single Drama at the Golden Screen Awards. At the same time, that episode also made the drama anthology nominated for Best Drama at the International Emmy Awards.
On that same year, her performance in the “Bimpo” episode of MMK as a cerebral palsy patient named April also brought her the Best Single Performance by an Actress accolade at the 27th PMPC Star Awards for Television. Later on, she was relaunched as part of Star Magic.
In 2014, she joined the reality show Pinoy Big Brother All In as a celebrity housemate and became the season’s 3rd Big Placer. The following year, she snagged her first lead role in the afternoon soap opera Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita.
Aside from teleseryes, the 24-year-old actress also starred in the films “The Love Affair” (2015), “Bloody Crayons” (2017), and “Haunted Forest” (2017).
Jane proved that she’s willing to do everything for a role when she cut her long locks for her new role as Amber Distrito in the afternoon series Precious Hearts Romances Presents Araw Gabi in 2018. She portrayed a mature role for this series and was partnered with RK Bagatsing.
It was followed by another mature role in her next project PHR Presents Los Bastardos, wherein she kept her hair short as she breathed life to the fierce and cunning Gigi Octavio.
She was once again given lead roles in the 2019 flicks “Finding You,” “Tayo Muna Habang Hindi Pa Tayo,” and “Ang Henerasyong Sumuko Sa Love.” The following year, her team-up with RK was brought to the big screen as they top-billed the movie “Us Again.”
After months of speculations on the real score between them, the two gave their followers hints through their respective posts on Instagram. Jane posted a sweet birthday message for him and referred to him as her source of happiness. RK on the other hand, shared a Tiktok video wherein they were seen sharing a quick kiss before performing a dance challenge. And recently, they were spotted getting their first dose of vaccine together.
This year, as we’ve mentioned, we are going to see Jane in The Broken Marriage Vow, the much-awaited Philippine adaptation of the hit British series “Doctor Foster,” wherein she will portray Diane Ragon.
But while waiting for it, you may catch her on I Got You, a Brightlight Productions series that you can binge-watch for free on iWantTFC!
