What is a teleserye without the bold and feisty lines, right? Iconic female Kapamilya characters are almost always the bearer of these fierce quotable quotes and they continue to ring in our ear even after several years.
In this Kapamilya Snaps, let’s recall some of the best palaban lines we have heard from our favorite teleseryes!
It’s no surprise that Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin is in the mix because the tandem bida-kontrabidas Marissa (Jodi Sta. Maria) and Ellice (Iza Calzado) never cease to let an episode finish without a confrontation.
Marissa has, in fact, been through so many challenges that her anger is more than valid so when Ellice told her that she is ready to burn her, Marissa calmly responded to her with, “Buhay ka pa, sinusunog na ang kaluluwa mo sa impiyerno.”
Ellice isn’t someone to back down, of course. She knows what she is capable of so when Marissa claimed that she was ready to take back what is hers, her clever comeback was, “Lahat ng inaangkin mo at ipinipilit mong iyo ay akin!”
In Love Thy Woman, we were shocked when the kind-hearted Jia (Kim Chiu) was ready to fight back at her vengeful half-sister Dana (Yam Concepcion). As Dana tried to banish her from their company building, Jia knew that she had to fight for her place. Dana refused to respect her will so Jia grabbed the nearby mop and held it to her face whilst saying, “Gusto mo i-mop ko ‘yang kasamaan ng ugali mo?”
The same goes for the usually non-confrontational Jacky (Yen Santos) in Halik as she eventually learned how to muster her courage and fight for herself. Jacky didn’t waste a second to spit some truth to the disrespectful Jade (Yam Concepcion) during her party crashing as she said “Kailangan mong mahimasmasan.”
The Killer Bride Camilla (Maja Salvador) also had her fair share of delivering honest truths to her enemies. When she finally came face-to-face against her family, the Dela Torres, she just had to reveal their true colors claiming, “Tinalikuran n’yo ako dahil malas ako.” The Dela Torres were initially speechless with their guilt, but Camila had no intentions to spare them.
Another woman that won’t let injustices pass is Ana (Julia Montes) from Asintado. Even as a gun was pointed to her face, Ana continued to fight for what is right and fearlessly told Salvador (Nonie Buencamino), “Ako naman ang maniningil.”
Quick-witted comebacks also take the cake for unforgettable teleserye moments. During the bid for Robert’s (Albert Martinez) CEO position in Kadenang Ginto, his wife Romina (Beauty Gonzales) and daughter Daniela (Dimples Romana) fought for the coveted role in front of the company board. After Daniela tried to convince them of what she has done for the company, Romina laughed mockingly at her claims, “May mga heels ako na mas mataas pa sa accomplishments mo.”
From the relatable drama teleserye The Legal Wife, Monica (Angel Locsin) faced unbearable betrayal and heartbreak as her husband cheated on her with another woman, Nicole (Maja Salvador). Not being able to withstand the deceit when she faces Nicole, Monica could only scream at her, “Paano mo siya nilandi? Ano una mong tinanggal? ‘Yang bra mo. ‘yang panty mo o ‘yung konsensiya mo?”
These spunky statements spark fiery emotions in us, but sometimes it can offer more than just that. The culmination of Lily Cruz’s (Maja Salvador) vengeance in Wildflower made us feel empowered as she resolved to put an end to the heartless Ardiente family. With eyes that could kill, she delivers one of the most popular teleserye lines, “Just like gold, I am indestructible.”
Did these lines give you the chills? That’s what strong and fierce female characters can do. Keep on watching Kapamilya teleseryes to pick-up on more feisty palaban lines!
