Kapamilya Snaps: Dreamy honeymoon destinations of celebrity couples

Presumably, many couples out there saw 2020 as the perfect year to tie the knot, until the terrible COVID-19 pandemic emerged. While this compelled some to postpone their dream weddings to next year or whenever it’s safer, there are still some who are unstoppable in fulfilling their ambition of finally marrying the love of their lives.

Even though holding matrimonial ceremonies and travelling are already allowed, there are newly-weds who can’t still push through with their highly anticipated honeymoons due to the restrictions and fear of contracting the virus along the way.

And while you’re waiting for the right time to jet away and unwind on a whimsical holiday with your other half, you may want to draw inspiration from the fantasy honeymoons of the Kapamilya stars and their spouses in this Kapamilya Snaps feature!

Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati

As many spectators were anticipating their supposed huge wedding celebration this year, Richard and Sarah decided to postpone it and held a simple and intimate civil ceremony instead last March 12, days before the enhanced community quarantine was implemented throughout Luzon.

Three months after, as soon as some parts of the country was decategorized to general community quarantine, the FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano star and his gorgeous wife pushed through with their honeymoon at a famous wellness resort in Lipa City, Batangas where they meditated, basked in the calm of nature, and, of course, created beautiful memories together!

Kaye Abad and Paul Jake Castillo

Two days after their church wedding in Cebu on December 11, 2016, Kaye and Paul Jake headed to Tubigon, Bohol for their first-ever vacation trip as husband and wife. But unlike other honeymooners, the Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit actress and her beloved hubby brought along with them some of their entourage and spent a day at the pristine Mundong Sandbar.

Toni Gonzaga and Paul Soriano

A few days after their splendid wedding on June 12, 2015 in Taytay, Rizal, Toni and Paul hopped on an unforgettable retreat to an exclusive resort in Pamalican Island, Palawan, soaking up the son and enjoying the white sand beach.

The perennial Pinoy Big Brother host and her director-husband then went on to have their second honeymoon in Indonesia and visited Tegallalang Rice Terraces and Besakih Temple, among other tourist destinations.

Moira Dela Torre and Jason Marvin Hernandez

After their dreamy garden nuptials on January 14, 2019, Moira and Jason spent their honeymoon in two paradises – in a nature trip in El Nido, Palawan and a quick getaway in Maldives.

The ASAP Natin ‘To mainstay and her equally-talented husband were accompanied by their two best friends on their first stop in Palawan and went on their first travel together as a married couple in Maldives, wherein they were surrounded by the calm, clear blue waters and the most relaxing beach.

Jericho Rosales and Kim Jones

Even though they had to postpone their honeymoon after their beachside wedding on May 1, 2014 as Jericho had to finish taping for the hit series The Legal Wife, he and model-wife Kim Jones surely enjoyed their trip to Japan the following month.

They may have only shared a few photos from their sojourn, but we’re certain that they had fun immersing themselves to its rich and colorful culture, picturesque tourist attractions, and sumptuous delicacies just like everyone who set their foot in the Land of the Rising Sun.

John Prats and Isabel Oli

As if one ceremony is enough, John and Isabel had two! On May 16, 2015, they tied the knot first in a garden wedding ceremony held in a resort in Balete, Batangas, and immediately succeeded by a winter-themed church ceremony at a parish in Tanauan, Batangas.

A month after, they had their honeymoon in Hawaii wherein they visited the world-famous Waikiki Beach in Honolulu and treated themselves with delicious acai bowls.

Anne Curtis and Erwan Heusaff

They may have to wait a full year before finally having their long overdue honeymoon after getting married on November 12, 2017 in Queenstown, New Zealand, but it was definitely worth the wait for Anne and Erwan as they spent one whole month together in Africa to celebrate their first anniversary.

The It’s Showtime host and her mon amour chronicled their travel through a vlog – from their flights, exciting safari adventures, daring swim atop a waterfall, extraordinary lodging experience, to their jaw-dropping close encounters with the wild.

Since we’re still in the midst of a pandemic, all we can do now is daydream about our next vacation or draw the trip we’re going to have once this is over. Which destination do you want to visit after this pandemic, Kapamilya?
