Kapamilya stars and their colors of love

Kapamilya stars went from red to black and white, and to the full rainbow of colors to create a fascinating imagery of love.

Because Valentine’s Day is here, we asked your favorite Kapamilya stars to describe love using a color, and here are the answers:

Love is red, burning red for Empress Schuck, who seems to embody that kind of passion in the series “The Broken Marriage Vow.” Besides passion, Brent Manalo also associates red with warmth.

For the show’s ‘other woman’ Sue Ramirez, love is rainbow-colored, “Because love is for everyone.  Kung anuman ang kulay ng pagmamahal para sa’yo, tama ‘yang iniisip mo. Mas marami pang kulay sa rainbow ang love. “

Ex-Pinoy Big Brother housemates Kiara Takahashi and Ashley Del Mundo likewise believe love is so bright like a rainbow.

For Vivoree Esclito, it’s an explosion of different colors. “When you’re in love, you can feel everything. There are butterflies in your stomach and all the sweet, romantic feelings you could ever feel. ‘Yung mga colors na ‘yun, it depends sa tao.”

When thinking about love, Anji Salvacion sees purity as in the color white, “If that love is pure and it can wait, then it can respect you.”

White is also how Lou Yanong feels about it, “It is peaceful when you’re with someone. Parang nawawala lahat ng problema. It’s pure, genuine, content and happy.”

Same goes for Jane Oineza who described romance as “pure and kind pero may kaunting red para mapusok, may spark.”

When combined, we get pink, which is Samantha Bernardo’s favorite shade and also how she paints the beauty of love, “Parang nag-aalab na puso at pag-ibig pero samahan natin ng purity and good conscience.”

Alyssa Valdez believes that in order for a relationship to work out, it must be grounded on friendship, respect, and trust – all of which remind her of the color pink.

How does an 18-year-old view romance? For “Viral Scandal” star Louise Abuel, it is a splatter of white and pink – pure and innocent.

The psychology of color says earth tones are perceived as warm, gentle, and pacifying – exactly how Sky Quizon feels about love. “It makes you grounded. ‘Pag magkasama kayo, you have that serenity, peace. Everything just stops when you’re together and it just becomes peaceful. The inner peace you get when you’re with that person, it’s calming.”

Former PBB Connect housemate Ralph Malibunas went for red because it’s the most common color during V-Day. Fellow housemate Crismar Menchavez thought love is like a rainbow that’s admired for all its unique colors, “Iba-iba ang pagmamahal. Situational siya. Pero kahit ano pa ‘yan, the uniqueness of it, it’s beautiful.”

But love can’t just be found on the vivid spectrum. Sometimes it also turns into a monochrome. Black is how Russu Laurente put it. “Kasi kahit anong mangyari, kahit nasa kadilim-diliman na kayo ng relasyon, dapat nakikita n’yo pa rin yung pagmamahal,” he said. And honestly, that’s a facet of love so often overlooked.
