Celebrities’ best celebrations

With how hectic or pressing our lives can get, we have been reminded to celebrate our achievements and milestones, regardless of how big and small they can be. As celebrities are among the busiest people that we know, ent.abs-cbn.com recently asked several of them regarding the best celebrations they’ve ever had and what made them special, and compiled their enthusiastic responses in this video.

Most of them talked about their unforgettable and fantastic birthday fetes, starting off with ASAP mainstay Edward Barber, who reminisced about the surprise party that his friends organized for his 21st birthday. Since a lot of time and effort were exerted in order to pull that off, he assumes that it will not happen again as they tend to simply hang out together in recent years.

Similarly, Andrea Brillantes considers her 21st birthday the best, as she got to spend it with her mom at home all day prior to hosting a separate shindig attended by her family and closest friends. She also threw a party to mark the first anniversary of her last breakup, as her way of celebrating her singlehood and proving her friends that she can live a year and be happy without a boyfriend.

Aside from working on weekdays, Gela Atayde’s weekends during her birth month of June were packed as well, as she had a month-long celebration of her birthday with her family and friends. According to her, it was sort of making up for her 18th birthday in 2020 that she wasn’t able to celebrate because of the pandemic. Among those invited to come over to their beach house to celebrate her birthday was her High Street barkada.

She may have celebrated her birthdays in various ways in the past, yet Alexa Ilacad appreciates the gatherings organized by her supporters, which, according to her, keeps getting better and better as the years go by.

While Sofia Andres didn’t elaborate why her birthday celebration this year is the best for her, Darren Espanto happily reminisced about his first major concert in Mall of Asia Arena many years ago, which also doubled as his birthday concert and the biggest birthday celebration he has ever had.

Lavender Fields young stars Krystal Mejes and Marc Santiago both regard their respective birthdays as the best for them. Aside from sharing hers with her brother, Krystal explained that it’s also the day when she feels extra special because people make time for her and appreciate her existence.

As Miggy Jimenez related that he always looks forward to celebrating his birthday every year, his High Street co-star Xyriel Manabat imparted that she’s actually more thrilled to celebrate the birthdays of her loved ones, especially her younger brother, because it delights her to be able to treat them with grand celebrations that they used to only experience through other people.

The same goes with Karel Marquez, who regards her wedding day with her husband and the birthdays of their four children as the best days of her life. Apart from serving as celebrations of love, forever, union, and life, celebrating their kids’ birthdays feels like celebrating herself, too.

Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 host Robi Domingo also considers her wedding day with wife Maiqui on January 6, 2024, as the best for him since he finally achieved his happily ever after that special day.

On the other hand, other celebrities consider Christmas Day to be the best celebration they’ve ever had.

“Amakabogera” hitmaker Maymay Entrata recounted one momentous Christmas Day that she got to celebrate with her grandparents and cousins. Although they had to transfer to a smaller house, wherein they had to squeeze themselves into its tiny space, Maymay and her family were still able to merrily celebrate Christmas since they were complete.

Miguel Vergara, one of the young stars of Lavender Fields,” enjoys Christmas the most, as he gets to bond with his family and relatives on the father side and celebrate the birth of Jesus with them.

His Lavender Fields castmate Jana Agoncillo may love celebrating her birthday and Christmas Day, but she thinks that everyday is worth celebrating since we get to live and experience beautiful things in life.

Jana shares similar sentiments with Jai Ho, who said that everyday he gets to wake up healthy and his family okay are already enough reasons to be happy. However, if there's one occasion that excites him the most, it's none other than Christmas. Even though his work schedule is usually hectic during the Christmas season, the radio DJ and host shared that he still gets to celebrate with his family.

The same quite goes for Shanaia Gomez, who looks forward to any occasions she gets to celebrate with her family and friends because she doesn’t see them a lot. Being surrounded by his family is also already enough for Pamilya Sagrado actor Emilio Daez, who gleefully looked back to one of the beach trips he had with them.

Meanwhile, Jason Dy still considers the afterparty of The Voice of the Philippines Season 2,” which he won in 2014, as one of the best celebrations he’s ever had.

How about you, Kapamilya? What’s the best celebration you’ve ever had?
