PAANDAR 2020: Award-winning actors and their acclaimed, noteworthy performances in teleseryes

The pandemic has taken a toll on everyone’s lives, but as we all know, life must go on. It’s wonderful to see how a lot of us were able to face the challenges head-on and make it through 2020.

As we salute those that stayed resilient amidst various struggles, we also have a number of Kapamilya stars that we can take inspiration from. Watch this Paandar 2020 video to see the actors and actresses that continued to work throughout the pandemic just so our beloved teleseryes could go on. Surely, you’ll recognize them as they are award-winning artists that are highly recognized in the entertainment scene.

We all know how FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano is filled with veteran actors and actresses so it’s a delight to see that all of them stayed on the show. Susan Roces, the former Queen of Philippine Movies and wife of the late FPJ, continued to portray Lola Flora, a near and dear character to all of us. Jaime Fabregas and Michael de Mesa also did not leave their vital roles as Delfin and Ramil. Famous movie and teleserye stars Joel Torre and Shamaine Buencamino remained on the show too for their roles as Alyana’s parents, Teddy and Virgie, and the two never fail to make outstanding on-screen scenes. The same goes for the actors standing as the show’s politicians, Rowell Santiago as President Oscar Hidalgo, Lorna Tolentino as First Lady Lily Ann Cortez-Hidalgo, and Tirso Cruz III as Sec. Arturo Padua. The three dominate the show’s dramatic moments with their incredible talent and skill.

Irma Adlawan, the star known for her work in several indie films and teleseryes such as Forevermore and Maging Sino Ka Man, carried on playing the character of Yasmin Alhuraji/Amara in A Soldier’s Heart. Around the same time the show was aired, she even played Loida Magtulis in Pamilya Ko, another Kapamilya teleserye.

Multi-awarded best actor Christopher de Leon was definitely not overshadowed by the young stars in Love Thy Woman. He stood by his role as the self-made billionaire Adam Wong to deliver powerful and striking performances.

The most awarded Filipina actress of our time, Maricel Soriano, is without a doubt one of the stars that stay dedicated to their craft. This year, she focused her energy in heightening the drama of Ang sa Iyo ay Akin as Lucing, the protective yet fierce mother of Marissa.

2009 Gawad Urian awardee Ronnie Lazaro is still serving amazing roles these days. Staying on track with his acting career, he sticks to his supporting role as Tatay Nick in Walang Hanggang Paalam.

In Bagong Umaga, seasoned actress Rio Locsin continued with her portrayal of Hilda Veradonna and delivered astounding acting in the supporting role.

Clearly, all these actors and actresses are award-winning not only in their talent but also in their dedication as entertainers in the industry. Regardless of what 2020 threw their way, they pursued and continued to offer us great performances that make us ever so loyal to them as fans.
