Angela Ken opened this Kapamilya Chat episode with a heavenly performance of her hit single “Ako Naman Muna.” She dropped by with LA Santos to promote their Love Bites episode titled “Boy Next Door.”

Now on its second season, Love Bites continues to bring snackable real-life love stories featuring the freshest pairings. In the episode “Boy Next Door,” Angela and LA play childhood friends harboring romantic feelings for each other.

Angela, taking on her second acting assignment, owns up to the jitters and hopes Love Bites Season 2 matches the success of the first season. Despite the pressure, she enjoyed the experience and resonated with her character in some ways. “Passionate kami lalo na ‘pag nagmahal,” she teased. “Kaya hindi mahirap isabuhay si Alyssa and sana mabibigyan ko ng justice para sa mga viewers lalo na sa real-life Alyssa.”

Rom-coms are nothing without the lead actors’ chemistry. Though this marks their first acting collab, Angela and LA built an instant connection since they have known each other through music.

In keeping with the episode’s theme, the two were asked how they behave around their crushes. Are they the ‘papansin’ type like Alyssa? Angela believes that it’s different for every girl. But to her who’s been raised by a conservative family, she’d rather go traditional and play hard to get. LA, on the other hand, quipped that women make their first move on him.

On their takeaways from Love Bites: “Boy Next Door, the duo talked about taking risks. In her words, “Tinuruan ako ni Alyssa na mas maging matapang sa nararamdaman niya. Kasi hindi mo naman kailangan ikimkim lahat. Malay mo kasi ‘yung sugal na dapat mong gawin, o ‘yung sugal na ginagawa mo ngayon, ‘yun pala talaga ang magbubukas ng mga pintuan para sa hope, para sa love.”

He echoed the same realization, saying, “Minsan dumadating talaga tayo sa point ng buhay natin na kailangan natin sumugal or kailangan natin lakasan ang loob para makuha ang mga gusto natin.”

Music is part of their love languages. Angela recalled writing three original songs as a gift to a special guy. She wrote the song in a notebook with their photos together. The songs must be so good she plans to include them in her next album. Meanwhile, a teleserye leading lady inspired LA to write the song “Anong Pangalan Mo,” which was used as background music during the Binibining Pilipinas competition in 2021. These anecdotes are reminiscent of a romantic quotation that says a musician, once he falls in love, will express his feelings through lyrics and melodies.
