Kapamilya star Albie Casiño gave spectators the chance to get to know him better by unveiling his deepest stories during his short but memorable Pinoy Big Brother Kumunity Season 10 stint. After the candid confessions, this time we’re giving you a golden ticket back to Albie’s sweet beginnings in showbiz so you can marvel at how much he’s grown from being in a love team to thriving as a solo artist.
Would you believe it’s been a decade since Albie starred in the primetime series Mara Clara? He was then a loveteam-mate of Kathryn Bernardo, reprising the role of Christian originally played by ‘90s heartthrob Wowie De Guzman. Their tandem was so warmly welcomed that fans started calling them “KathBie.”
It was followed by a superb guest appearance in the inspirational drama 100 Days to Heaven. Albie made a remarkable comeback on primetime via On The Wings Of Love and figured in a love triangle with the lead characters played by James Reid and Nadine Lustre aka JaDine in 2015. His character, the GGSS (gwapong-gwapo sa sarili) and hot-tempered Jigs, may be hated for trying to break the beloved Clark-Leah tandem but he was also amusing in some scenes like the funny abs battle with James.
Albie brought his onscreen ‘angas’ in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano and Pusong Ligaw where he played ‘kontrabida’ roles.
The year 2018 was momentous in Albie’s career as he was tapped to join the main cast of afternoon series Precious Hearts Romances Presents Los Bastardos. Albie combined drama, action, and sexy as Lucas, the gentle yet strong Cardinal. With his charisma and arresting acting skills, Albie was a perfect teammate to hunks Jake Cuenca, Joseph Marco, Marco Gumabao, Diego Loyzaga, and Joshua Colet playing the other Cardinal heirs.
In 2020, Albie had a brief but pivotal appearance in the revenge-drama series Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin. His was Victor, the political scion whose death caused a major turnaround in the lives of best friends Ellice (Iza Calzado) and Marissa (Jodi Sta. Maria).
This year, he gained praises as the gay best friend of Yam Concepcion in Init Sa Magdamag that also starred JM De Guzman and Gerald Anderson. Albie was lauded for his naturalistic and fun take on the gay role.
Albie can easily transition from bad boy to gay man, proven in his guesting in the drama anthology Maalaala Mo Kaya, where he breathed life to the story of a transgender letter-sender. He also guested in Ipaglaban Mo and Wansapanataym.
Albie once sizzled on the ASAP Natin ‘To stage as a member of Cover Boys alongside Luis Hontiveros, Clint Bondad, and Tanner Mata.
Albie recently joined PBB KUMUnity Season 10 where he carried the moniker “Ang Pilyong Hunk-tor ng Quezon City.”
With versatility and boldness as his strongest points in showbiz, Albie will slay any role he’s assigned with. We can’t wait for the next one!
