Always excited to try new things, Albie Casiño enjoyed playing another character with a new set of co-stars in ABS-CBN’s first YouTube exclusive daily series “How to Move On in 30 Days.”
The bonus part was filming in La Union where the vibe is nothing but chill. He therefore had a great time working with the cast – Maris Racal, Carlo Aquino, Jai Agpangan, Kyo Quijano, and Sachzna Laparan – most of whom are new faces to him.
Asked to talk about them one by one, Albie said it was fun to know Sachzna, who crosses over from content-making to acting, since he’s friends with her boyfriend Jerome Ponce. He had less scenes with Jai but found her super friendly and chatty, “Akala ko sobrang daldal ko na pero mas may madaldal pa pala sa akin.” Among the cast, he was closest with Kyo, his ‘tambay’ buddy after taping.
It’s also his first time acting with Carlo, whom he didn’t know was an ex-child star. Thus, he was surprised at how he proficiently built the character even better than how he imagined it, “Ang galing ng portrayal niya na hindi ko naisip ‘yun, na parang, nadala niya sa ganung anggulo.” Stunned, he slightly stepped back during their first scene together.
He already had several projects with Maris before but they were never really close until this lock-in taping. “I love working with Maris. Magaling siyang artista. You know what I mean, parang, I guess may chemistry kami sa set, sa screen. Gets na namin ‘yung isa’t isa sa eksena,” expressed Albie.
In the series, he plays Jake, the boyfriend who dumps Maris’ character, Jenny, pushing her to move on in 30 days. Albie didn’t have to build Jake’s backstory in his mind since it’s already hinted at in the script. What he likes about Jake is his persistence, although it can go over the top, “Talagang dedicated siya. He knows what he wants and he won’t stop until makuha niya ‘yung gusto niya… Sa sobrang pagka-determined niya, it brings him to bad situations din.”
Asked if he’s like that in real life, he answered, “not as much as the character,” especially in relationships. “Medyo madali akong bumitaw, eh. When it’s hard, eh ‘di huwag na nating pilitin ‘to,” he admitted.
Related to the plot, he’s also asked his opinion on giving second chances to a cheater. He thought it depends on many factors. If it can be justified, then, he might reconsider. “I’m not saying na tama itong pag-iisip ko. Ganito lang ako because I know we’re humans, eh. Lahat tayo nagkakamali at lalo na sa panahon natin ngayon, ang daming temptations,” he explained.
For Albie, it boils down to what the situation was before the cheating happened “Gets ko kung nag-aaway o two weeks tayong ‘di nag-uusap, or sinabi kong break tayo, gets ko pa ‘yun, eh. Pero kung smooth-sailing, hindi ko kaya, there’s no way.”
