Did you ever know that there’s such thing as International Kissing Day? Just in case not, this unofficial day is celebrated each year on July 6 to spread awareness regarding the simple value of a kiss.
While getting too intimate with or giving a kiss to our loved ones and special someone is highly discouraged for four months now because of the COVID-19 pandemic, there’s indeed no stopping us to celebrate it as we present the montage of the most titillating kissing scenes we’ve seen on Star Cinema movies through the years for this episode of “Stop, Look, and List It!”
First off is the Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla-starrer “Barcelona: A Love Untold” (2016), wherein the reel-to-real sweethearts didn’t only enthral us with their top-notch performance, but with their first-ever legit on-screen kiss as well their fervent followers had been waiting for.
Based on the best-selling self-help book of famous personality Ramon Bautista with the same title, “Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Mo?” (2013) definitely made us both laugh and kilig with the quirky love story of Sandy (Kim Chiu) and Alex (Xian Lim). Even though it was their first movie team-up, the KimXi loveteam didn’t fail to thrill us with their unmistakable chemistry and that intimate smooch they shared.
The same went for Angel Locsin and Piolo Pascual who marked their first silver-screen collaboration via the 2008 romance-drama film “Love Me Again” (2008). Although it was their first time working opposite one another, the two seasoned thespians didn’t fail to excite us not only with their scintillating portrayal of Arah and Migo, but when they kissed too!
Arguably, many ladies out there were envious of Bea Alonzo as two of the hottest leading men in the country were tapped to work with her in the remarkable 2013 romantic-melodrama movie “She’s The One” – Enrique Gil and Dingdong Dantes. As her character Cat had affairs with both her best friend Wacky (Dingdong) and David (Enrique), one after the other, we also saw her having passionate moments with both of them.
In 2015, Coleen Garcia and Derek Ramsay undeniably titillated us with their impressive performance in “Ex With Benefits” as ex-flames Adam and Arkisha who had the chance to rekindle their romance after 10 years. As the title suggested, we knew that there’s going to be a slew of intimate scenes.
Meanwhile, in 2014, we got enthralled by Erich Gonzales’ unlikely pairing with JC de Vera in their first Star Cinema project together – “Once A Princess” – which was the screen adaptation of the Angel Bautista novel bearing the same title and tells the complicated love story of couple Erin and Damian.
However, two years prior to that, many of us were surely delighted to see Erich share the screen with Thai superstar Mario Maurer in the 2012 rom-com flick “Suddenly It’s Magic” as they made us kilig with their depiction of the cute and sweet romance of star-crossed lovers Marcus and Joey.
And last, but definitely not the least is the classic 2002 romance-drama movie “Forevermore” top-billed by former top loveteam and lovers Kristine Hermosa and Jericho Rosales. The narrative itself was already magical as it follows the love tale of their characters Marian and Anton, but their sweet kiss that made the mango trees at the backdrop figuratively light up made it extra whimsical!
