10 more companies back ABS-CBN’s Pantawid ng Pag-ibig campaign

Fastfood giant McDonalds led 10 new brand partners in supporting ABS-CBN’s Pantawid ng Pag-ibig fund raising campaign to benefit medical frontliners and less fortunate families affected by the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.

Support for ABS-CBN’s Pantawid ng Pag-ibig has widened with more top companies extending donations that the Kapamilya Network will distribute to Filipinos affected by the enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila and Luzon.

McDonald’s Philippines heeded the call of ABS-CBN’s call for help as it gave out several boxes of its food products for deployment to various local government units as part of the food packs to be given to medical frontliners and less-fortunate constituents.

“Marami na po tayong na-prepare na meals for our frontliners. In fact, 12,000+ meals na ang na-prepare natin at naibigay na natin sa 22 different hospitals,” McDonald’s Philippines President Kenneth Yang said in a report on TV Patrol on Friday, March 20.

ABS-CBN turned over 375 burger meals to Paranaque City officials, currently preparing relief goods for families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Paranaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the assistance is an immense help in facing the crisis.

“Sa ngalan ng aming siyudad, kami po ay nagpapasalamat saABS-CBN doon po sa suportang binibigay n’yo sa amin. Ito po ay talagang makakarating po sa mga nangangailangan at lalo na po sa mga frontliner na sila po ang 24 hours na exposed po na sila po ay makakatanggap ng tulong, aside po sa mga affected nating resident all over the city of Paranaque,” Olivarez said.

Nearly 400 sandwich packs were also handed over to security and social workers of Muntinlupa City. The local governments of Quezon City, San Juan City and Mandaluyong City likewise received food packs from the Kapamilya network.

The Pantawid ng Pag-Ibig campaign went full steam in Metro Manila, but ABS-CBN is targeting to widen the reach of the program in other areas of the country.

Meanwhile, ten more brands have partnered with ABS-CBN for the Pantawid ng Pag-ibig in providing food and basic necessities to affected areas in cooperation with the LGUs.

Aside from McDonalds, the new partner brands include Quick Chow noodles, Mega Sardines, Nestle Bear Brand, Great Taste 3-in-1, Sunsilk shampoo, Safeguard, Hanna shampoo, Champion detergent, and Unilab.

This is in addition to the current lineup of partner companies Century Pacific Food Inc, Rebisco, Suy Sing Corporation and Lucio Tan Group of Companies.
