Hawak Kamay tells the story of Gin (Piolo Pascual), is a failed musician who ends up being the guardian of Emong (Zaijan Jaranilla), Dara (Xyriel Manabat) & Ningning (Yesha Camille), three orphans left behind by his dearly departed sister. Despite being ill-equipped to be a guardian of three kids, he still tries to be good at it to prove himself worthy of Me-ann’s (Nikki Gil) love. This becomes a turning point in his life, forcing him to carry on the responsibilities of being a foster parent despite the depression he is in. However, along the way, he meets Bianca (Iza Calzado), a lawyer who becomes his ally in taking care of the kids, that causes a change in him. In the end, he realizes that the three kids, whom he thought were a setback to his life, are be the ones who will teach him the real value of a family.

The show' theme on being a family despite not being blood-related, Hawak Kamay was welcomed with warmth and appreciation by TV viewers. The show also garnered positive reviews and the highest ratings.

The primetime bida teleserye' four-month run has been successful because of its consistency in creating a story centered on family concerns that is very relevant to the modern day Filipino family.
