Totoo ba na masarap magmahal ang mga Pinoy? Handa ka na ba para sa ULTIMATE JOWA EXPERIENCE? Star Cinema’s Metro Manila Film Festival 2022 official entry, "Labyu with an Accent," shows how love can pop up in the most unexpected situations.

As we return to cinemas this Christmas, we witness the ups and downs of Gabo (Coco Martin) and Tricia (Jodi Sta. Maria) in their whirlwind fake relationship in "Labyu with an Accent."

Tricia (played by Jodi Sta. Maria) is a businesswoman based in the United States but after catching her business partner turned fiance cheating, she returns to the Philippines to heal her heart. Fate takes the wheel and gives her a serendipitous encounter with “jack-of-all-trades,” Gabo (played by Coco Martin), who is also looking for a fresh start. After availing of Gabo’s “Ultimate Jowa Experience,” Tricia is swept off of her feet in the limited time she has in the country. But when Tricia leaves, at long last Gabo accepts his cousin’s offer in the US to follow her. There, Tricia hatches a plan to keep her domineering father from taking her ex-fiance back for the family business. She makes Gabo act as a extremely wealthy businessman and her new boyfriend! Will this ultimate jowa experience endure aliases and America’s challenges?

"Labyu with an Accent" showcases the storytelling of multi-awarded actor, and producer Coco Martin who, aside from writing and starring in the movie, co-directed it with Malu Sevilla. Alongside him is veteran actress Jodi Sta. Maria. Coco and Jodi have been mainstay names in the Philippines’ entertainment industry having portrayed impactful roles throughout their careers.

Completing the Gabo and Tricia tandem is Jodi Sta. Maria who is one of the most sought-after actresses in the Philippines. One of her iconic roles is Maya dela Rosa in Be Careful With My Heart which solidified her name in the industry. After that, she bodied as Doc Jill in The Broken Marriage Vow making the series a top hit. Throughout her career, she garnered awards such as Favorite Foreign Actress 2015 at the Vietnam Green Star Awards and Best Performance by an Actress 2016 at the 44th International Emmy Awards. Jodi also has been nominated as Best Actress in Metro Manila Film Festival 2015 for her previous work in "All You Need Is Pag-Ibig."

With Coco and Jodi sharing the spotlight in "Labyu with an Accent" they will surely bring the star power and talent to their roles, Gabo and Tricia, this Christmas on the big screen! Together with them and adding to the overall narrative with their characters are Rafael Rosell, Manuel Chua, Rochelle Pangilinan, Joross Gamboa, Zeus Collins, Neil Coleta, John Estrada, Nikki Valdez, Nash Aguas, Marc Solis, John Medina, Jay Gonzaga, Bassilyo, Smugglaz, Michael De Mesa, Nova Villa, and Jaclyn Jose.
