In our fast-paced world, there are instances that we probably wish for time to slow-down just a little bit as we want to savor every moment that we have with ourselves, loved ones, or even with other people. However, we all know that it’s highly impossible and all that we could do is to capture those special moments not just on our minds, but with the help of our cameras!
And it really pays to take a lot of pictures in every part of your journey because you will not know when nostalgia is going to hit you and make you yearn for those moments, and when are you going to need those silly baby pictures, awkward prom portraits, wacky random shots, and family candids again, just like in the present when recreating throwback pics is a thing!
Of course, some of our favorite local celebrities dived in to this trend as well and amused with how they flawlessly mimicked their poses and facial reactions from their throwback snaps shared online, as seen in the photos in this gallery.
Before Kathryn Bernardo became the other half of the top loveteam KathNiel, it was Makisig Morales who stood first as her on-screen partner when she played Maya, the love interest of his character Budong in the well-loved kiddie superhero series Super Inggo. And years after it concluded, the two bumped into each other again and had the chance to recreate one of their promo shots together!
In his guesting in ABS-CBN Entertainment’s Kapamilya Chat, Makisig also enthusiastically accepted the challenge of recreating his poses as the gumptious kid-slash-young mighty superhero.
Former child actors Zaijian Jaranilla and Matet de Leon also got us probably wistful when they brought back to life their iconic characters Santino from May Bukas Pa and the titular character in the 1987 film "Bunsong Kerubin," respectively, when they graced the said online show.
The same went for Goin’ Bulilit alumni Sharlene San Pedro, Nikki Bagaporo, Miles Ocampo, Carl Barrameda, and John Manalo who recreated the title card of their 2005 teleserye Mga Anghel Na Walang Langit when they got reunited last year. Claudine Barretto and Vilma Santos-Recto was also able to recreate the poster of the classic drama movie "Anak" that they top-billed in 2000.
Meanwhile, as they entertain us with their hilarious banters in It’s Showtime, real-life long-time besties Vice Ganda and Karla Estrada also amuse with their interactions in social media, especially when the Unkabogable Star uploaded a picture of them, impeccably mimicking one of their old photos.
And speaking of the noontime program, the gregarious It’s Showtime family shared a bit of their childhood when they took on the viral “I’m Just A Kid” challenge. Take a look on the adorable portraits of Jackie “Ate Girl” Gonzaga, Ion “Kuya Escort” Perez, Ryan Bang, Vhong Navarro, and Karylle captured many years ago.
Lastly, actor-comedian Jerald Napoles had an ultimate fanboy moment with FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano co-actor Romnick Sarmenta as he’s able to recreate a photo of them together, seemingly taken in their chance encounter when the former was just a young boy while the latter was a still a matinee idol.
Did these stars inspire you to flip through your old photographs and consider recreating some of those?
