Starting this September 16, Luis Manzano will host the newest game/reality show of the Kapamilya network, “I Can See Your Voice,” the Philippine version of the hit mystery music game show that originated in South Korea. Today, let us have a trip down memory lane as we look back at some of the memorable game/reality shows that he hosted through the years.
Pinoy Big Brother (2006, 2008)
Luis became one of the hosts of the longest-running and most successful reality show in the country, “Pinoy Big Brother.” He hosted the first celebrity edition with Toni Gonzaga and Mariel Rodriguez, and “Teen Edition Plus,” the second teen edition, with Toni Gonzaga, Mariel Rodriguez, and Bianca Gonzalez. Keanna Reeves and Ejay Falcon were hailed as the Big Winners in these two editions.
Panahon Ko ‘to!: Ang Game Show ng Buhay Ko (2010)
He hosted the game show “Panahon Ko ‘to!: Ang Game Show ng Buhay Ko” together with Billy Crawford. Each team had three players, one ranging from 13-19 years old, one ranging from the 20-45 years old, and one who is 46 years old or older. They had to answer a variety of pop culture questions of the different decades, particularly the 1960s to the 2000s.
Pilipinas Got Talent (2010-2011, 2013, 2016)
Luis also hosted all the seasons of “Pilipinas Got Talent” with Billy Crawford. It’s a nationwide talent search for the country’s most impressive and jaw-dropping acts. Unlike other competitions, anyone can join and showcase their unique talent in the audition. The judges of the first four seasons were Kris Aquino, Ai-Ai delas Alas, and Freddie M. Garcia. In the show’s fifth season, FMG was joined by Robin Padilla, Angel Locsin, and Vice Ganda.
Laugh Out Loud (2010-2011)
He also hosted “Laugh Out Loud” or “LOL” with model and cosplayer, Alodia Gosiengfiao. It’s a weekly comedy gag show that brought funny videos with real-life reactions of real people caught in unusual pranks at work, at school, on the streets, and everywhere else.
Kapamilya Deal or No Deal (2012-2013, 2015-2016)
Luis replaced Kris Aquino and became the host of the fourth and fifth seasons of the hit game show “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal.” The contestants play and deal with the Banker for the top prize money in this high-energy game of nerves, instincts and raw intuition. He was joined by the 24K (models) in the fourth season and by the 20 Lucky Stars (celebrities) in the fifth season.
Minute to Win It (2013-2014, 2016-2017)
He also hosted both seasons of the hit game show “Minute to Win It.” The contestants had to complete a specific task or challenge within the 60-second time limit. The second season of the show was the “Last Man Standing” edition wherein several contestants compete in various tasks and challenges until only one contestant remain standing.
The Voice Kids (2014-2016) / The Voice of the Philippines (2014-2015)/ The Voice Teens (2017)
Luis was the main host of all three seasons of “The Voice Kids.” He was joined by Robi Domingo and Alex Gonzaga in the first season, Robi Domingo and Yeng Constantino in the second season, and Robi Domingo and Kim Chiu in the third season. He also crossed over to the second season of the regular/adults edition and joined Toni Gonzaga. The two also became the hosts of the Teens edition of the singing competition. The judges of the different editions include Sarah Geronimo, Lea Salonga, Bamboo, apl.de.ap, and Sharon Cuneta.
Celebrity Playtime (2015-2016)
He also hosted the weekly game show “Celebrity Playtime” and replaced Billy Crawford on the show’s eighth episode. It featured several Kapamilya celebrities playing house party games. Two teams of celebrity players faced off in various games such as “Hirap I-Spellengin,” “Perfect Song-bination,” “Sing-a-zoo,” “Bitin To No,” “Transla-songs,” “Blanket Ba Ganyan?,” “Mukhang Pera,” “Guess the Tutut,” “Gamitin Mo Ako,” “Kalitono,” “Sing-Awoo,” and “Order Taker” to earn the jackpot prize.
Family Feud (2016-2017)
Luis hosted the Kapamilya network edition of “Family Feud.” Two families or groups competed to name the most popular responses to survey questions in order to win cash prizes. The first two rounds were the single value rounds while the last two rounds were the double money rounds. The winning family advanced to the jackpot round or more popularly known as Fast Money.
I Can See Your Voice
This 2017, Luis Manzano will host another local franchise of a hit international game show. In “I Can See Your Voice,” the guest stars will try to guess which among the secret songers is the real SEE-nger and which ones are the SEE-ntunado. The SING-vestigators composed of Angeline Quinto, Alex Gonzaga, Kean Cipriano, Wacky Kiray and Andrew E will also help the contestants decide.
