She’s been in the entertainment industry for 15 years, but it has been only a decade when she became a full-fledged Kapamilya. Throughout her skyrocketing career, she has garnered a lot of fans and prestigious recognitions from various award-giving bodies not only because of her exceptional acting prowess, but also for her benevolent acts off-cam.
Aside from her remarkable portrayals, Angel Locsin has also become one of the much-anticipated artists in the ABS-CBN Christmas Station IDs through the years.
Her first ever appearance was in “Walang Mag-iisa Ngayong Pasko” in 2007 where she was seen with her Lobo leading man Piolo Pascual.
In 2008, she imparted on the “May Katuparan ang Hiling sa Kapamilyang Kapiling” campaign that the best Yuletide gift she has ever received is painting smiles on other people’s faces.
“Iba ‘yong feeling talaga kapag nakakakita ka ng taong nakangiti dahil sa ginagawa mo. ‘Yon ang maituturing kong napakalaking blessing sa akin – ang makapagpasaya ng tao kahit sa maliit na paraan,” she stated.
For two consecutive years, in 2009 and 2010, she and her Imortal leading man John Lloyd Cruz were spotted exhibiting their sweetness on the screen as they graced the “Bro, Ikaw Ang Star ng Pasko” and “Ngayong Magniningning ang Pilipino” music videos together.
The multi-awarded actress proved that she’s truly an angel on earth in the succeeding Christmas Station IDs. She reminded us the real essence of the season in the “Da Best ang Pasko ng Pilipino” as she solemnly prayed with the Regional Network Group anchors and hosts.
In 2012, she was one of those who personally thanked the unsung heroes who showed their compassion and bravery during the devastating typhoons that ravaged the country that year.
To celebrate the six decades of genuine and unrelenting service to the Filipino people worldwide, ABS-CBN organized a momentous event in 2013 at the Quezon City Memorial Circle dubbed Grand Kapamilya Weekend. A clip of her enthusiastically taking pictures with fans and signing autographs at the backstage was used in the “Magkasama Tayo sa Kwento ng Pasko” campaign.
Considered as our modern-day heroes, Angel didn’t forget to express her gratitude to Overseas Filipino Workers by holding a placard with “Thank you, OFWs! Proud kami sa inyo!” written on it and posing with a bunch of airport crews in the “Thank You, Ang Babait Ninyo” music video.
Another heartwarming thing she did on a Christmas station ID was when she and fellow Kapamilya celebrities Paulo Avelino, Matteo Guidicelli, JC de Vera, and Jessie Mendiola visited the kids of Meritxell Children’s Home Foundation and gave joy to them through gifts and bonding with them, as shown in “Thank You for the Love” Station ID.
With love and hope as the primary themes of “Iisang Pamilya Tayo Ngayong Pasko” campaign, she conveyed how proud she is of 2016 Rio Olympics Silver Medalist Hidilyn Diaz because of her utmost dedication and being an inspiration to the Filipinos, especially to women and youth.
In 2017, the ardent fans of her team-up with Kapamilya newbie-then and eventual La Luna Sangre co-star Richard Gutierrez were all surely delighted as they graced the “Just Love Ngayong Pasko” Christmas station ID together wearing their matching green #justLOVE shirts.
And this year, Angel still stands out as her happiness in mingling with her fellow stars Toni Gonzaga, Sarah Geronimo, and Regine Velasquez, and being surrounded by the brightest artists in the country, radiated in the latest Christmas station ID “Family is Love”.
Indeed, her star has never failed to shine not only during her station ID stints, but in every project that she does.
