As the leading network in the country, ABS-CBN has committed itself to constantly giving only the best content. Keeping this promise, two teleseryes in the works are going the extra mile to reflect the lives of our Filipino soldiers.
Last October 10, at the Civil Relations Service Building in Camp Aguinaldo, a Memorandum Of Understanding was signed between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and ABS-CBN's new Kapamilya series The General’s Daughter and Take Life. This partnership aims to aid the cast members in training, and in turn ensue a more realistic representation of the country’s service men.
“’Yung tiwalang binigay ng AFP sa ABS-CBN, malaking bagay ‘yun,” The General’s Daughter lead star Angel Locsin, expressed her excitement. She also revealed that production is now in full swing, “Ngayon, gigil kami ulit.”
Take Life lead star Gerald Anderson is also looking forward to this collaboration, “Mas lalo akong nae-excite at nai-inspire.” They have yet to shoot their military scenes, but he can already picture how great this project would be once it all comes together.
For Angel, in order to naturally portray her character, she will also have to learn the discipline of the army which is why she is thankful for the time that the AFP has offered them. They have been beyond helpful and patient, “Sobrang alaga nila sa ‘kin.” The actress shared that there are instances when she would be stopped in the middle of training, even though she feels that she can keep going.
“Malapit talaga sa puso ko ‘yung military,” Gerald admitted. He knows what their life is like and the extreme challenges they face. For this reason, the actor believes that this partnership is more than just the AFP training them, “Susuportahan tayo ng AFP para sa show natin. Tapos tayo, bibigyan natin sila ng napakagandang support line.”
