Kapamilya loveteams we all love to see together again on TV

Through the years, teleseryes and TV dramas have spawned loveteams, which further brought their scintillating onscreen chemistry to blockbuster films. While these team-ups may have come and gone, and witness the emergence of such sensational loveteams as KathNiel, LizQuen and JaDine, we still all would love to see these spectacular Kapamilya loveteams together again in a teleserye or any other reunion project.

Piolo Pascual and Judy Ann Santos
It’s been 12 years since the last time we saw their team-up through the romantic drama Sa Piling Mo and flick Don’t Give Up On Us. There were news about their much-anticipated comeback, but nothing has materialized yet. But both of them have been so vocal in their interviews about their willingness to do one if given the opportunity.

Piolo remains one of the most eligible bachelors in the country, while Juday is happily married to Ryan Agoncillo and now has three kids.

John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo
After being cast as lawyers-turned-lovers in their first-ever project together – the romance-drama series Kay Tagal Kitang Hinintay – in 2002, JLC and Bea had evolved into more mature roles when they took on the characters of Popoy and Basha in the blockbuster hit One More Chance (2007). They reprised the iconic roles in its sequel A Second Chance released in 2015, which left their avid shippers yearning for more. They were last seen together in 2012 in their reuinion project A Beautiful Affair. Although they got paired with various artists and are now happy and in love with their respective partners, their formidable chemistry endures.

Marvin Agustin and Jolina Magdangal
It was in the 1996 youth-oriented program Gimik when their tandem was launched and was succeeded by a string of successful titillating projects, such as the very remarkable hugot film Labs Kita Okay Ka Lang? in 1998.

They kept us waiting for more than decade before we were able to see them together again in the Kapamilya network via the afternoon series Flordeliza. Despite surprising us for unshackling their wholesome image, that seemed not enough to serve the wishes of their fans because it wasn’t a happy ending for their characters.

It wasn’t only the time MarJo got us crazy again in the present time since Marvin already guested in Magandang Buhay twice, the morning program co-hosted by Jolina.

Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa
The Echo-Tin tandem was a powerhouse when they were introduced through the phenomenal series Pangako Sa ‘Yo which ran from 2000 to 2002. Their chemistry didn’t only work on-screen, but in real life as well for they became sweethearts. They were last seen together in 2009 in their teleserye reunion Dahil May Isang Ikaw and crossed paths in the latest Star Magic Ball staging last year.

Kristine laid low in show business as she focused on being a full-time housewife to Oyo Boy Sotto and mom to their four kids. Meanwhile, Jericho persists as one of the bankable actors in the country as he supports his supermodel wife Kim Jones.

Hero Angeles and Sandara Park
They both catapulted to immense fame after their stint in Star Circle Quest in 2004 as individual artists and as a loveteam. Despite being new in the industry, they starred in the fantaserye Krystala and were tapped to headline two big movies, namely Bcuz of U (2004) and Can This Be Love (2005).

After thrilling fans with their Asianovela like tandem, Hero became a visual artist while Sandara conquered the world as a member of one of the most successful Korean pop girl group 2NE1.

Now that Hero is back on the Kapamilya channel and the Pambansang Krung-Krung visits the Philippines often, will be there be a possibility of them having a project together?

Carlo Aquino and Angelica Panganiban
After so many years, this early 2000s tandem is making headlines again as fans are hoping that they would not only rekindle their romance on reel, but for real as well. It all started when news of Carlo’s break-up with non-showbiz girlfriend broke out and photos and videos of them together bombarded our social media feeds, setting the butterflies in our stomachs aflutter.

Both were known as caliber childstars, until they were launched as a loveteam in the youth-oriented program G-mik. Their relationship became legit later on as they became sweethearts for four years. They both remained active in the local entertainment scene, with Angelica being a Banana Sundae mainstay and starring in the romantic-comedy film Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes while Carlo top-billing the upcoming movie Meet Me at St. Gallen.

Coco Martin and Julia Montes
They could be the newest in this roster, but CocoJul definitely won’t come in last when it comes to bringing excitement to their fans, especially every time their names would be brought up in their respective interviews.

Ever since their first team-up in the romance-melodrama series Walang Hanggan and movie A Moment in Time, we are in awe with that teeming romance that’s obviously brewing as speculations on the real score between them have gone incessant with neither of them confirming nor denying yet.

While they are busy in their latest projects – Coco in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano while Julia in Asintado, their fans’ hopes are still up for their highly anticipated reunion.

The thrill and giddiness we feel just thinking about their sensational pairings is truly overwhelming. Hopefully, there will come a time when we would see these team-ups again.

Who knows, maybe the sparks ignited among these loveteams have never gone nor faded and just became dormant after all this time.
