In recent years, the Star Magic Ball has become known for the glamorous display of major fashion looks courtesy of our favorite Kapamilya stars and showbiz personalities, apart from being a fund-raising event.

The first-ever Star Magic Ball happened in 2007. Yes, it has been almost two decades. And certainly, the event itself plus the artists and their fashion choices have gone through a major glow-up.

With that, let’s reminisce about the unforgettable looks and moments during the inaugural Star Magic Ball in 2007.

The annual spectacular gathering kicked off on August 5, 2007, with less than 200 guests. What made this more special was it coincided with Star Magic’s 15th year as the country’s premier talent management and development center.

Some attendees wore sprightly ensembles back in the day in contrast to the edgy and high fashion garbs more popular in the recent years.

Kim Chiu was only 17 when she first walked the Star Magic Ball red carpet. It was only a year after she was hailed the first Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Big Winner. Kim was poised to become the industry’s ultimate teen sweetheart that night, thus her pink long gown with tulle neckline was fit for a budding showbiz princess. She was escorted by her former loveteam partner Gerald Anderson.

Before she went for the tried and tested black and white ensembles, Anne Curtis first experimented with a yellow-gold empire cut dress in 2007. She was the Ball’s first-ever recipient of the Best Dressed Female of The Night award or the Stardust Award.

Angel Aquino also graced the event in a black-and-red printed halter dress. From then until now, Angel is truly a goddess. She doesn’t seem to age.

Shaina Magdayao arrived to the occasion in a gold dress and charmed everyone on the dance floor in what seemed like a cotillion number.

Meanwhile, Jodi Sta. Maria was ahead of the fashion trends as she donned a white dress, with her hair up in a bun and red lipstick to complete her elegant look.

For male attendees like Piolo Pascual, Sam Milby, Jake Cuenca, and Enchong Dee, the classic black tuxedo was the way to go for a handsomely luxurious look. Zanjoe Marudo was the first male artist to be recognized as Star Magic Ball’s Best Dressed or the Stardust Award winner.

The then-young stars took the event as a chance to mingle with their seniors in Star Magic. Bela Padilla, Erich Gonzales, and Jessy Mendiola were only teenagers when they made their Star Magic Ball debut, and they stood out with their beauty and potential.
