Maris Racal and Iñigo Pascual are undeniably two of the most celebrated young stars in the local entertainment scene today, and even as a loveteam. Although it’s a no-brainer why they continue to soar to immense popularity, let us enumerate the reasons that make us want the MarNigo ship continue sailing.
Their start was superbly cute
They might come from different walks of life, but their paths crossed through Iñigo’s father Piolo Pascual.
It all began when the Ultimate Heartthrob dropped by the Pinoy Big Brother house to mentor the housemates, which included Maris. He got enamored with her bewitching façade and musical talent, thus he quipped for her to wait for his son who was then based in the US. Having the same age and interests, it seemed that he already had a presentiment that they will seamlessly click.
Puzzled, the younger Pascual immediately took to Twitter to informally introduce himself to the pretty damsel and expressed his excitement to collaborate with her. They finally met in the set of the defunct family drama Hawak Kamay, where Piolo and Maris worked together, when he visited his dad.
It was indeed an awkward first meeting for them as people teased them, forcing them to hide from each other due to shyness. But before they ended, they were brought to a corner and had the chance to talk.
They are both multitalented artists
Since then, the onlookers and their fans have been rooting for them, which spawned to the birth of the “MarNigo”.
Arguably, their tandem is a rare gem for only a few team-ups can sing, dance, act, play instruments, and write songs like them. In fact, they have covered a bunch of songs together and performed duets on-stage for innumerable instances, garnering a lot of views and applauses from the audiences.
Aside from that, they also composed songs for each other, which they first teased on their guesting in Gandang Gabi Vice last year. Maris exposed her sincere feelings for him through “Ikaw Lang Sapat Na”, while Iñigo responded with the thrilling “Balang Araw”.
Their first stint together in Maalaala Mo Kaya “Tape Recorder” episode, left the viewers in awe of their compelling performance as sweethearts Lou Ann and Allan who were able to withstand the test of time and of life. The thrill continued when she joined him to co-host One Music PH’s online show POPSSSS.
They categorize themselves as soulmates
Despite their sweet gestures and words of admiration for each other, the two denied the speculations that they are already an item. However, they describe whatever relationship they have as “exclusively talking”, since they don’t have time to go out and enjoy every moment they are together.
In one of his media interviews, the “Dahil Sa ‘Yo” hitmaker disclosed that he considers his loveteam partner as his soulmate, for he has found a kindred spirit in her who can fully understand and get along with him. Besides, they both have flourishing showbiz career and don’t want to hinder every endeavor that may come their way.
However, they firmly assured one another that they’re the only special person in each other’s hearts. Besides, they have terms of endearment that indeed send kilig vibes to their shippers – “Mama Meh” and “Papa Peh”.
