Remembering Isabel Granada and her endearing, impressive showbiz legacy

With Isabel Granada’s passing, we will always remember her as one endearing and accomplished actress who truly touched our hearts and minds.

Having been that young star fixture we always enjoyed watching in her beginnings in showbiz, Isabel never lost the attention and admiration of her fans being a seasoned, intense actress, timeless beauty, and empathetic person, who never forgets her roots and those who support her.

She was a cute child performer turned teen star in the 1980s and had a well-followed love team with young actor Chuckie Dreyfus.

Isabel since appeared in several movies and TV shows throughout the 80s and 90s, such as Bakit Madalas Ang Tibok Ng Puso? with Aga Muhlach and Janice de Belen, Umiiyak Pati Langit also with Janice de Belen.

A career highlight was when she won the FAMAS Best Supporting Actress plum in 1998 for Ligaya Ang Itawag Mo Sa Akin, which was topbilled by Rosanna Roces.

And, of course, she is etched in our minds for her most memorable appearances in teleseryes, including Sa Puso Ko Iingatan Ka starring Judy Ann Santos and Piolo Pascual from 2001-2003. She played the role of Tessa Velasquez-Zaragosa in Got to Believe starring Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.

Isabel was recently cast as Cris, a domineering and snooty friend of Anton in the Bea Alonzo-Ian Veneracion led family drama, A Love to Last, which aired until last September.

She also appeared in Wansapanatym Presents: Holly And Mau, which headlined Elmo Magalona and Janella Salvador earlier this year.

Isabel also made an impact on the MMK episode “Mansanas at Juice” in July this year wherein she portayed Alda, a judgmental, overbearing aunt to Yves Flores’s character Roy.

Above all, she is also inspiring having accomplished more than a successful career in showbiz, such as having soared to the skies flying a plane being an aeronautics engineering professional!

But the most touching and heartwarming fact about Isabel is her devotion to her family no matter what and of course sharing her talent and performing with her loved ones. This appearance on It’s Showtime shows it best when she and her family was the Grand Winner in the Bida Kapamilya Celebrity Round in 2013.

Isabel, who succumbed to brain aneurysm weeks after she slipped into a coma during a meet-and-greet event in Doha, Qatar is truly acclaimed for these celebrated milestones in her life. She is an inspiration to all of us being a talented artist with an enamoring personality, incredible work ethic, and dedication to her craft.
