Vice, Darren, among PUSH Awards Social Media Personality of the Year nominees

Gone are the days when we only have to wait and rely for the latest updates about our favorite celebrities through news and talk show programs, newspapers, and/or magazine features. With the rise of social media in the recent years, fans are now able to interact with their idols through ‘liking’ and commenting on their social media posts or sending them direct messages.

Aside from giving a glimpse of their personal lives to their supporters, celebrities have also used their Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram platforms to speak openly about important issues, as well as spreading information, inspiration, and good vibes to millions of people around the world with their every post.

Thus, to recognize the positive influences they impart, ABS-CBN’s entertainment website PUSH.com.ph nominated five celebrities in the “Social Media Personality of the Year” category – Heart Evangelista, Nadine Lustre, KC Concepcion, Vice Ganda, and Darren Espanto – for the seventh staging of its annual fan-voted PUSH Awards.

From being one of the popular teen stars of ABS-CBN in the early 2000s, Heart Evangelista has unbelievably bloomed into becoming one of the A-list celebrities here and abroad. In the recent years, the “Queen of Creative Collaboration” has not only worked as an actress and visual artist, but went on to become a social media influencer, too, giving us a peek of her lush life through her daily fashion moments and other shenanigans.

As much as Nadine Lustre is admired for her astounding flair as an actress and singer-songwriter, so is for her IG feed because of how aesthetically-pleasing it is. Aside from showing her artistry and promoting her projects, she also uses her platform to tackle social issues and react to the controversies involving her.

Despite having Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion as parents, KC Concepcion has successfully stepped out of their shadows and made a name for herself. She went on to become an actress, host, and singer like her mom from late 2000s to early 2010s, and is now based in the United States where she established her jewelry business. She may be miles away, but KC is still able to loop us in her life by posting about her latest ganaps, as well as the causes she supports.

Vice Ganda, on the other hand, is not only bringing laughter, good vibes, and words of wisdom on It’s Showtime from Mondays to Saturdays, but also on social media. Aside from fascinating us with his flamboyant OOTDs and kilig moments with boyfriend Ion Perez, it is also through his accounts where he promotes his projects and weekly vlogs.

Lastly, Darren Espanto is also making waves on social media – thanks to his ever-supportive Darrenatics who have been consistently liking, sharing, and commenting on his every post. Apart from keeping us updated about his life on-and-off-cam, not to mention blessing us with shots of his fit bod, he also uses it in promoting his activities and the brands he endorses.

Aside from “Social Media Personality of the Year”, fandoms may also vote for their favorite celebrities in other categories, namely, “PUSH Popular Loveteam of the Year”, “PUSH Music Personality of the Year”, “PUSH Content Creator of the Year”, “PUSH Trending Tiktoker of the Year”, “PUSH Favorite Onscreen Performance of the Year”, and “PUSH Celebrity Mom of the Year.”

A special category is also added this year named PUSH Inspiration 2021, which aims to honor an individual who’s an epitome of empowerment by bringing pride to the country with their achievements and boosting the morale of Filipinos amid these trying times. This is not fan-voted.

Vote for your favorites on push.abs-cbn.com/vote from January 31 until February 27. The winners will be announced in a virtual awarding ceremony on March 4.
