"I love you, Piolo!" in a shrieking high-pitched voice is probably the first phrase that'll come to mind should the humble beginnings of Toni Gonzaga be recalled. The iconic line was from a local TV commercial with hearththrob Piolo Pascual way back in 2001. Her comedic performance eventually paved the way to a career in show business.

The Filipina artist was born as Celestine Cruz Gonzaga to parents Carlito and Crisanta Gonzaga on January 20, 1984. She hails from Taytay, Rizal and was even elected as Barangay Kagawad for a term in her hometown. She studied Mass Communication at the Dominican College in San Juan, Rizal and eventually transferred to the Asian Institute for Distance Education with a degree in AB English. Because of her busy schedule, she took a break from school and later enrolled at the Open University system of the University of the Philippines.
