From being a stand-up comedian who used to occasionally appear in television shows and movies, Vice Ganda has gone to become one of the most influential personalities in the country. And in the past decade and so, she has been making the madlang people happy as one of the talented and gregarious mainstays of It’s Showtime.
Aside from the well-loved noontime program, she also currently spreads good vibes as the host of the community singing game show Everybody Sing!, and used to make us laugh every Sunday through the late-night comedy talk show Gandang Gabi Vice. Of course, who would forget his blockbuster hit flicks that truly showcased his unfailing comedic and impressive acting chops?
But in recent years, Vice has not only astounded us with her formidable artistry and effective representation of the LGBTQIA+ community, but with her impeccable sense of fashion, too! From casual wear to avant-garde numbers, which she punctuates with her ever-changing coif, she has indeed never failed to slay. Thus, we can all agree that she’s truly deserving of her “Unkabogable Star” title.
While we have already seen sashay in fabulous numbers, we can all agree that among her standout (and controversial!) looks was the shimmering black number that she wore in the inaugural ABS-CBN Ball in 2018.
The jaw-dropping ensemble was comprised by a beaded black midi dress by Paul Cabral, and a 20-feet long stained glass-inspired hand-painted cape created by Dubai-based Filipino designer Michael Cinco, which is said to be part of the latter’s 2015 Saint-Chapelle Collection.
Vice completed her dramatic look by putting on a long wavy blonde wig adorned with a headdress that resembled a crown of thorns, as well as bold makeup and towering black stilettos. She paraded the red carpet with her anak-anakan and It’s Showtime co-host Ryan Bang, who really channeled the oppa in him with his dashing all-black ensemble.
When asked by reporters on the red carpet regarding the inspiration behind her look for that majestic night, she simply told them, “Siyempre, this is a grand event, you have to be grand, ‘di ba? Everyone’s excited to see you rock the red carpet so might as well prepare.”
The Phenomenal Box Office Star also prepared a second outfit for her hosting stint in the Bantay Bata program of the ABS-CBN Ball, which was a sparkling gray cape dress by Furne One Amato couture that she topped off with a bejeweled silver headpiece.
Have you also been wondering how she would “mother” in this year’s ABS-CBN Ball? Well, that’s for us to find out on September 30!
Apart from being a star-studded night of glitz and glamour, the upcoming ABS-CBN Ball 2023 will also put the spotlight on the stories of thanksgiving, togetherness, and hope shared by Kapamilya artists, employees, partners, and collaborators, who all share the vision of delivering stories that promote human good to our dear audiences. Moreover, it will also aim to raise funds for the benefit of the ABS-CBN Foundation.
