One of the new faces in primetime television is Sue Ramirez. We all know her as "Ligaya," Angelo's archnemesis-turned-friend in the hit teleserye "Pangako Sa 'Yo". In the narrative starred by Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo, we saw her character's transformation from a beanie-wearing girl to a lady who now wears her hair down. Because of her fair complexion, tall nose, and charming smile, she is often being compared to Anne Hathaway by fans.
As it turns out, the 19-year-old with a rare Filipina beauty also has an Irish American descent. Her father, James Peter Dodd, is an American retired senior officer of the US state department. She grew up in Parañaque City and is the youngest of five.
In an interview with ABS-CBN.com
, Sue recalled that she was one of the hundreds of auditionees during the Starmagic Auditions. She was the 697th during that day. Because of her beauty and talent, relatives were always coaxing her to join the show business but, at the time, she wanted to focus more on her studies. "It has always been my dream. Kaya when I got the chance, I really did my best," the young actress shared.
Her acting career started in the ABS-CBN remake of Mula sa Puso (2011). She played the role of Nicole Matias, a supporting character in the teleserye starred by Lauren Young, JM De Guzman, and Enrique Gil. Following this and while still in school, she did another supporting role as Rona Dimaano for the daytime drama series "Angelito: Batang Ama". In the same year, Sue made her movie debut through a minor role in "Aswang." She was also part of the cast of the teen rom-com "Just the Way You Are" (2015) with Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano.
