“2Gether,” two sensational male Thai actors have made their growing legions of Filipino fans immensely delighted with their first-ever interview in the Philippines.
In an exclusive interview Friday, May 8, on TV Patrol, the two hottie male stars Metawin Opas-iamkajorn (Win) and Vachirawit Chiva-aree (Bright) of 2gether: The Series (Thai: เพราะเราคู่กัน; RTGS: Phro Rao khu kan, lit. Because We Belong Together), a 2020 Thai television series did make their Filipino fans rejoice.
With its 11th episode wrapped up, the series has two more episodes before its finale.
2Gether is about Sarawat and Tine, two college guys, who pretended to be romantically involved, but eventually, became a real couple.
When asked about their feelings toward the warm reception of their series and them as actors, Bright was quick to say, "We are very proud and excited about the reception."
Win is humbled as he shared his thoughts, "We are thankful for liking us."
Tine (Opas-iamkajorn) has a gay admirer in his university named Green (Korawit Boonsri). To drive away from the latter, Tine's friends convince him to make Sarawat (Chiva-aree), a popular and attractive guitarist and soccer player, his fake boyfriend.
During the MJ Felipe’s TV Patrol interview livestreamed on ABS-CBN digital platforms, both revealed that they did not audition. Both were offered to tackle the roles to whom Filipino audiences learn to embrace and love.
According to Bright, "I know that for the series I'm going to act but back then I didn't know yet which character will be given to me."
"I was very excited because it's my first series. When I got the script, I tried to work hard with it. I try to learn what could Tine is and try to blend it to me," Win added.
The BL series gravitated to its Filipino audience, it’s because of its relatability as if it’s like the routine of a normal life--the two stars thought.
Prior to becoming the stars that they are now, they are both students. Apart from being a host-model-actor-and-a-singer, Chiva-aree is pursuing his second year in Marketing studies. Opas-iamkajorn on the other hand is an exchange student in Iowa, USA, he’s in his third year taking an economics degree and was a member of a boy band, too.
Though the two stars have different plans in the future still they are destined to make it big through the series that centered on man-to-man love. Vachirawit intends to explore more of his singing and Metawin wants to take it to the next level.
To their Filipino fans, they are thrilled to come visit the country when they get the chance in the future and look forward to seeing the beautiful beaches, particularly in Palawan. Before the conclusion of the interview with Felipe, they learned the Tagalog words: “Mahal Ko Kayong lahat, Kapamilya.”
Their series is an adaptation of the 2019 Thai novel of the same title--JittiRain. It airs every Friday at 11pm.
